I read his father's book, and just ordered Tweak!

It is so inspiring, I learned so much from it. His book should be part of reading curriculum for schools to teach children about drugs.

My cousin is currently struggling with a mental illness, and I have found the two strikingly similar: in and out of rehab, angry at parents when down, but loving them when normal, lying, making excuses and false promises, even if they were true when made, relapses, etc.

OH AND they reward him because he got clean, he makes money from his book because he wrote a damn good one! i wouldnt say he's my hero, but ths kid knows how to write. I am a recovering addict and i can relate to him in many ways. as i read his book i can understand clearly about the things he went through and the pain he's caused my family because i have been there, and that is what the book is about.. the struggle, the heart ache and pushing the reality that over coming addiction is possible.

ONLYONERUBY has clearly never been an addict or put his family through the discuting desease of addiction.. get a grip buddy no one is rewarding Nic on his ability to do drugs, nor do they buy his book to contribute to his meth addiction.. Why do we recognize and reward those who do the wrong thing? This kid did drugs , stole from his parents , and the list goes on.. and now hes a big star making loads of money off his books. Maybe i should go try meth and destroy my family and then right a book about it. I could be famous!

I read Tweak and really enjoyed it. Kind of made me want to do drugs though. His life as an addict is much more romantic and entertaining then that of thee average awkward young man. It also must be nice when you get sent to all these awesome rehab clinics with cookies, movies, and more drugs ;)

I read the book almost two years ago. A year later my brother became addicted to Meth. I showed my mother the book and she even remember lines in the book that pertained to my brother. I keep this book in my beside drawer and have memeorized it by now.

Really, I know you won't read this Nic but I really hope you are recovering for your siblings sake, My brother has affected me more then he even realizes.

I'm reading the book right now. I've read a lot of books about or by addicts, but this one is a little bit different for some reason. I found myself really happy for him when he got sober, and I was REALLY disappointed when I got the point in the book where he's been sober a year but relapses. When I've read books like this before I've never cared about the characters, whether they're real people or not. I've always read them for entertainment. This one made me care. :)

im 14 and i just finished this book. hes one of my idols because i have never done drugs, and i never will because of this book. his story prevented me from ever considering to try any drugs, and im so grateful for that

i'm reading his book right now and i just appreciate him being honest. it takes a lot of courage to tell a story like his and it truly serves as an eye opener because many people don't understand addiction and choose ignorance over learning and accepting. i almost lost my best friend to addiction and i thank him for telling a story that so many people share

Im almost done with the book. His writing is ok, visceral at best. Its just sorta annoying that he acts so hard up when he was raised with a silver spoon up his ass. He was surrounded by so much oppurtunity that he repeatedly squandered like your stereotypical bratty west-coaster in an obnoxiously progressive environment. I'll admit I follow his book with guilty interest probably the same way a housewife watches soaps, but I'll bet the majority of his readers are teenage emo girls.

He looks really unwell. Particularly when compared with other videos. He is the embodiment of a description of him in relapse in "Beautiful Boy". I appreciate Nic for writing his book and shedding light on the psychology of addiction. I appreciate his honesty and I just hope he doesn't ever taint that by speaking about being sober when he is using, by pretending everything is okay. I hope he has been out of the public eye for the last few months because he is taking care of himself.

My brother is mentally ill with drug addictions and it is really hard for him to get proper treatment.
