  • @iannyrockwell To get a sixpack or a flat belly, you have to do two things.

    One of them is doing abdominal exercises to increase your muscles,

    and one of them is doing cardio exercises to lose fat.

    Cardio exercises include running, jogging, cycling, rowing etc.

    hey everyone reading this u should do the bicycle crunch too it is a lot more intense and will give u greater results. I do kickboxing and our trainer always makes us do that at least 1-3 times every training session more than any other core exercise. it does ur abs and obliques at once

  • @w4rrior94 to get abs? None. The key to seeing visible abs is getting your body fat low. You wont see abs with high body fat ever.

    i do 3 sets of 3, 3 times a day. so thats 360 a day. 3 x 30 after you wake up. before a healthy meal and before you sleep should be good for about 2-3 weeks

  • You already have a six pack its just covered in fat, and you can't specifically remove fat from a certain area by exercising it. You have to do aerobics.

    Cardiovascual exercices (such as running/swimming) are your best bet, minimum of 30mins a day.

  • 1st. It ain't only crunches that create a 6 pack. Try to do different exercises just do 2 or 3 sets, 10 or 15 times crunches are for your upperbody. Try: lay your hands next to your hips and lift your legs up till 90degrees than go slowly back to your last pose. (try not to touch the floor) try that several times.

    (There is enough material on the Internet to train your abs). 2nd. Most people have enough abs for a 6 pack only the fat percentage is to high. Look on the interne for further info.

  • The neck is part of the spine and therefore part of the curl and as long as you are not cranking your neck with you hands and you are distributing some of the curl into your upper back as well, AND your neck is not in pain, you should be fine. See for yourself. Do a crunch where your eyes are focused on your belly. Hold there and then look at the ceiling. In which position does your neck feel better?

  • When you're doing a crunch, if you look at the ceiling, you are using the muscles in the front of the neck to lift or hold the head off the floor and the muscles in the back of the neck to look at the ceiling or 'keeping that head lifted". This can cause cervical compression (squishing the discs between your neck vertebra).

  • Actually, they are crunches. Most people confuse a crunch with a sit-up, which is bad for your back.

  • what she is doing i a mixture of both, when u cruch, your head and neck should not move at all, your face should stay parallel to the ceiling!!! yur should be trying to lift your face up towards the ceiling!!!

  • you should NOT look up at the ceiling..that will cause extreme cervical spinal extension, and possible cramping. your head should in fact, stay with the line of your spine and body. your body works as a unit, not individual parts.

  • sit-ups are NOT "bad" for your back. although when done incorrectly, they could be quite damaging. I don't know about you, but when i get up in the morning, i SIT UP out of bed. Sit ups done as an exercise with arms across the chest, knees bent and feet flat on the floor bringing your armpits to your knee caps is a very healty, safe way to do a sit up. As long as the spine is protected (lumbar to cervical), sit ups are quite natural, and full core involving exercise. :)
