@tupsumato it doesn't really matter where the ship is, buy law the lifeboat has to launch and be able to get away, although i will admit that it does seem pointless abandoning ship when you can simply walk off XD
@Smithyards, all the double acting ships I've seen had free-fall lifeboats in the stern. Lifeboats can not be used in ice so it doesn't matter where they are - side-mounted lifeboats on davits are just as useless in ice as free-fall ones. However, free-fall lifeboats are generally safer and the ship operates mostly in open water, so it's kind of obvious that they'd use them.
There's definitely nothing wrong with the animation. The bow of the ship looks a bit strange, but then again such design could be even better than an ordinary bulker bow especially in heavy seas. The icebergs could also have a bit more "keel" i.e. they should probably swim deeper. But those are minor things in otherwise great clip!
This tremendous animated icebreaker carrier ship animation has been very promising to look at. You couldn't just say it was an ordinary one. Refraction of the light and the shadow of the ship in the water is definitely on the proper rendition.
The soft mist at background and the dark grey clouds adds a very soft touch to this very powerful animation. This video shows how it breaks ice and the audio was very well synchronized with the animation.
Great job on the cloth effects in the water. Did you use a garment maker modifier to do it?

just one issue, is u abondon ship whilst going backwards,
you'll either run over the lifeboat, or it will smash into bits when it hits the ice...

@smishlines, why would you lower the lifeboat if you had to leave the ship in the middle of an icefield?
