Mother of all that is holy... the comments helped more than this video did... but not much. Drag your m4r into the iTunes portion (NOT THE PHONE) then IN THAT PORTION click and drag it to the phones "Ringtone" section.

it's showing the different ringtones under the ringtone section for my iphone on itunes, but on my phone it's listing them all as the last ringtone i added. i have 4 copies of the one ringtone, rather than the four different ones it's showing on itunes... i tried deleting the info except the title and it didn't work... ???

after you do this, you must go into the new ringtone you have created in itunes, go to get info, and delete all song info except for the song title.

did you drag the ringtones from windows explorer directly? try dragging it first to itunes then sync it

I figured out the problem with mine so it's probably the same with you!

MAKE SURE that the song is no longer then 30sec!

Mine was 31sec by accident and i changed it and it worked after :)

I was having a problem where all the new ones I would put in would copy the one I put in before. (I tried to have 4, but it kept repeating #2). I took each one out individually, and then put them back in individually and it works now.

hey dude your video is awsome, but I had a problem in the part that I rename the file from .m4a to .m4r it seems that my computer can't change the .m4a to .m4r.

I can put "lost.m4r" but I saw the complete file name and it said "lost.m4r.m4a" and I don't know what to do, and I uncheck the hide file and folder option, but it doesn't do anything. I need help!!

Here's how you fix that, assuming you're using Windows:

Open Windows Explorer/My Computer.

Go to Tools > Folder Options.

Click the View tab.

In the "Advanced settings" area, uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".

This will show the extensions for all your files and let you change them without re-appending the old extension when you're done.

make sure the song isnt more than 30 secs... it may be part of 1.1.4 firmware that fixed the problem for me.. what version do you have?
