A few years ago, our alternative rock station in Atlanta, 99X, went off the air and became pop station Q100. Ironically, the last song 99X played before signing off was Green Day's "Good Riddance". I miss my alternative rock just as much as you do, dude. Thanx for the post.

I still can't believe they got rid of Krock for some gay ass hits station as if there isn't enough "top hits" station. I don't listen to radio anymore I just listen to my mp3 or ipod. TV is turning into the same with all these stupid reality shows. I feel like starting my own TV and radio station and I can probably do it using youtube because what people consider entertainment now a days is getting just plain utterly ridiculous.

I liked 92.3 when it was WKTU. Krock grew on me. Now this...NYC needs a new rock station.

I didnt pay for radio so I lost howard stern a while back. His ratings were unbeatable so if you liked him or hated him you cant argue the ratings. without him the station probably didnt make money. I personally wont listen to anything with perez hilton on it so once I heard him on 92.3 now I took it off my radio memory. thats my choice since its America and my choice is to avoid that guy ever since he called ms America a bitch and helped get her fired. anyway sorry you lost your type of music.

here's the biggest problem with radio.. IT MAKES NO MONEY! I switched to XM and I am happy to pay for it. I am sure anyone who reads this will agree that with most FM stations you get more commercials then music! It sucks!

NowFM is way better!! They play more music. I LOVE NowFM!! I liked KRock and my brother caught a bitchfit when KRock died but I am now a devoted fan of NowFM.

Actually, Free FM is dead, their last (and official station) station in LA (97.1 Free FM) switched format on Feburary '09, its exactly like 92.3 Now FM.

Wow that is lame...I used to live out in NJ and krock was a staple to listen. Now they put on Top 40 garbage and isn't there like 2 other stations in the area that are the same format.

Thank goodness I have sat' radio and I don't listen to regular radio anymore.
