The problem is that there is always going to be something better no matter what time it is. it'd be like, don't buy 3DS, wait for 3DSlite, and then in 2 to 3 years, it will be, don't by 3DSlite, wait for 3DSi, and then don't buy 3DSi, wait for 3DSiXL. and then it will be, don't buy 3DSiXL, they just announced the 4DS. i usually agree with you but not on this battery life is not even a problem because who walks around for hours playing a game? You'll get robbed! If i'm at home i'm laying down & playing, so pluging it in the charger while im playin wont be a problem. I prefer the fat ds & Xl over those tiny lites, although i had 2 both hinges broke on each one from blanket pressure. The 3ds will be cool & i'm not waiting for a lite i'll just upgrade for a 3dsi xl if its worth it.

Getting it the first day for 1 reason :) The first models of any console are always easy to crack. A week or less after the console drops there will be a R4 for it and will be able to download & sample games before I buy them. Just like with the Nds, DSi and all other consoles. Being an early adopter has its benefits. You wait, Im preordering it as soon as there is a solid price and release date for the console.

If the 3ds Lite has a better battery life, then trade your original in for a new one but until then just play with the ORIGINAL one.

the problem is that those of us who buy games consoles for games rather than extra unnecessary features aren't going to wait 3 years to enjoy those features if it means we have to wait to play games like Kid Icarus, Professor Layton, Paper Mario, and Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton. For some platforms *cough*ps3*cough*, waiting 3 years is ok when there's barely any exclusive games out for it for the beginning of it's lifetime. However, the 3ds' library is going to be big on the first year.
