  • This is based on the 1945 one huh?

  • @dino312989 no its actually based on the 1980s one filmed my John Carpenter

  • @jordan16195 But to me, it seems like there are scenes and parts from both. But its still a good job.

  • that was amazing!!! But wtf was with the voices?

  • No one cares SuperCYBERSHADOW.

  • A lego short of my favorite horror movie

  • Awesome man, I've seen the thing about 100 times lol, you did a great job here ... 5* =D

  • Kurt Russel, Kieth David, and a huge love for John Carpenter's "Escape" movies made me want to watch this movie. I'm so easily frightened and whatnot that I wound up turning it off after like 30 seconds of the first transformation sequence. So I guess having a LEGO version makes it easier to watch, heheh.

  • AVPR is nothing compared to this!!! Long live the thing!!

  • @metan75

AVPR is made for little teeny girls and boys.

This movie is ment for men!

  • @YamazakiSuperDM You are one sad, sad little human being.

  • BRILLIANT!!where'd u get the ''humanity'' song??

  • The Thing proves that CGI is overrated.

  • this is bad ass

  • ok this is tight

  • this is tight! Just needs better photography, the quality isn't too good..otherwise cool vid...I used to make tons of Lego movies years ago...lotta fun!

  • I loled my ass of this vid, the sounds, the voices and its LEGO! Just great work right there x)

  • *lol*

Great Work! "blablubla - Head exploding*

  • Fuckin good idea this lego version :)))) 5/5 :)

  • This lego version is a good way to prepare the kiddies for what they'll be in store for when the see the real version.

the look on the faces, PRICELESS!

  • dude when he sad burn in hell you son of a..... in the movie he sad ''well fuck you too

  • I think, that he sayd "Yeah, fuck you too"....

  • in the real movie when they did the blood test i got scared when the blood jumped

  • The first time I saw it, I did too. When they tested Palmer, he was exposed.

  • @SuperCYBERSHADOW lol me too i expected it to just move away but instead it went BAAAAAAA RAWR

  • @SuperCYBERSHADOW Same here man.

  • @SuperCYBERSHADOW That blood is a spy!

  • cool

  • Lol, this is awsome. Nice setting you had made, and the voices were funny.

  • how come they sound like chipmunks ? lol XD

  • @cartoonking3 this is how small lil lego people talk

  • If it's supposed to be based on the Plot of the movie.. No.. No. Just no.

  • good job

  • The sets were cool!

  • horribly recording i cant see a thing

  • no body cares what you think man!! i think it was scary and hella funny at the same time

  • Pretty cool :D

  • The setting is amazing!

  • awesome

  • i would defo buy this game lol

  • Great job. Sure wish your video was in better clarity though.

  • I laughed, I cried, the film became a part of me.

  • nerd

  • that was pretty fucking good

  • i loved it it was well made and the lighting effects were cool to, but what i did was instead of using more legos to make the people change i used clay so like thier heat could be one place and he has like more tentical like arms y-know?

  • This reminds me of Prototype...

    with the shape-shifting, and such.

  • i love chipmunks

  • lol..this looks scary even at lego version

  • Too bad I can't understand a word they're saying, but the voices add to the comedy. Plus, the death cries are hilarious! And that scene with the shadow on the wall was just brilliant. 5/5!

  • Hilarius

  • Brilliant!

  • no bad

  • that was brilliant sweet job

  • Awesome on a stick- great job, Mr. Thornberry.

  • I want my ice back!!!!

  • sounds like the voices from animal crossing

  • Szkoda że nie ma napisów polskich.

  • is that polish he's speaking ?

  • cool! great stop-motion,but the camera quality is bad... 5/5 anyway

  • :) the voices are kinda hard to understand you shude make one of the originle the thing movie(with better voices)

  • LOL good job guys.

    exelent work.

  • You gotta just love the noise the thing makes when it tries to attack someone. Very inventive filming, just a shame the rez is rather low and it's a bit grainy .. but it's very good. Thanks for sharing this.

  • Very funny video. I like the voices just funny lego thing.

  • SOOO GOOOODDDDD !!!!

  • u are a genius

  • yeah pretty good

  • It was so fuckin' good!

  • NO c in squeak - I think they were using the cute, little chipmunk-type voices to match the little Lego fgures.LOL

I'd be weird to see one of those little plastic guys with a deep, masculine voice, wouldn't it? Anyhoo...

  • Whats with the sqweacky voices?(sorry, forgot how to spell that word)

  • u mean squeaky?

  • yeah,thats it.

  • Dude, that was awesome!

  • amazing

  • dude, this is the best lego version of the thing i ever seen, excellent job man.

  • An excellent production dude! Totally atmospheric and 'Carpenter-esque'. Mac's beard was spot on and as the other dude said, the sombrero to boot. Nice one. Great editing too; the main plot line came through perfectly. I loved it.

  • lol 4:20 to 4:24 is funny

  • i work at a video store and you CANT get people to rent this movie. they say its too old. i try to tell them how awesome and scary it is, but they wont listen.

  • !! I LOVE GETTING on the CAM!! msn!!! msg me r

  • You even have MacReady's arctic sombrero. Vicious.

    Peace.

  • if the voices were clear it would have been better

  • lol

  • voices a bit too squeaky but fun too watch

  • Damn good! Respect, man. Carpenter's 'The Thing' is one of my favourite horror movies, and that what I've seen here is a realy nice pece of work!

  • I have never seen anything like this before. This is awsome!

  • dude thats wrong mac didn't get infected he was one of the survivors

  • Great animation.

  • Where are the black guys! I would have preferred a more faithful rendition, and I didn't care for the squeeky voices. As a fan of lego version however, I found it silly and good with great animation effects! The Thing is one of my favorite movies; this was a great piece on it!

  • cute!!

  • Awesome :D

  • Wicked :D

  • that was actaully pretty good...awesome job (for a lego moive that is :p)

  • One of the best little videos I've seen in a while.

    Well done.

  • Burn in Hell you son of a-"Explosion!" Excellent! Great vid!

  • no dogs scene though. shame. good lego version though. cool.

  • I liked the idea of testing using a little torch

    MONSTER!

  • chill guys, this wasnt supposed to be BETTER than the real movie. of course not. but this, was great!

  • so you're saying a teen slasher movie disguised as a sci-fi movie is greater than The Thing? I can't believe you actually think that. The Thing is hailed as one of the greatest horror/sci-fi movies of all time and you said AVPR was better? HA.

  • @razorblademask Wait, who said that? That's fucking insane. Sure, AVPR was okay... but The Thing nukes it out of the water

  • of caurse the effects wernt as good as avpr because avpr came out 20 years later :p

  • They were great for their time though.

  • Alien came out around 1979 and it had some of the most amazing and realistic special effects ever captured on camera. Not to mention those star wars films had very creative special effects as well and came out before this movie. I liked your ending better because lego Macready mentions the rescue team will arrive and for now they should rest before finding out what will happen. That ending is similar to the alternate ending that was considered for the original film.

  • First of all, it's not cults. It's a dedicated fanbase similar to that of Tremors and Jurassic Park. If the fanbase can have a mega site that breaks down the movie piece by piece, it's not a cult hit, it's more than that. Secondly if it was so terrible then why did it get a video game and why is it still mentioned in magazines and WHY is it coming out on Blu-Ray?

  • The Thing hated?? Rue Morgue just did a HUGE anniversary retrospective on it...hated? Nobody I know hates this gem...cheesy effects?? Really? Tense, great performances from everyone, and amazing 'real time effects', not that souless CGI excrement..This movie was a little to bleak for it's time...remember ET came out around the same time...people wanted feel good movies at the time...this is NOT a feel good movie...it's a creepy classic.

  • I'm 20 and I love this movie :D. I like CGI but it's overuse and abuse is horrible. Jurassic Park did it right but the sequels fell for the trap as well.

  • Aliens Vs Predator Requiem was a disgrace. The Thing is a classic.

  • wtf is with the gay voices

  • really, they kind of ruin it. Is this alvin and the chipmunks or the thing?

  • LOL I LOVE it!!! =)

  • Wow....Way better then i ekspekted!

  • nice movie:-DD

  • i think that The Thing movie is still better than this but this is most of same but without flame-throwersand some thing else :(

  • wow really the real movie is better!!!!...

  • Terrific!!!

  • Hahaha, nice!!!

  • lol

  • bravo!! c'est cool et bien pensée mais c'est dommage que la vidéo soit de mauvaise qualité :(

  • hilarious

  • JAJAJAJAJAJA

    love it

  • For all those who hate the voices, for god's sake it freaking LEGOS for crying out loud! What do you want? Serious drama and suspense? IT'S FUNNY!!!!!

  • I'll Take Five Pounds Of That Grinded Gear!

Thanks Apple For This Spooky Treat!

  • haha love this video favorited!!

  • HAHAHAHA, it's like "Mrs. McNally's third-graders" but with better animation and unnecessary chipmunk voices!

  • i dont like the voicrs but overall its cool

  • Good movie.

But, why was the scene with the dog left out?

Thats practically the scariest part of the whole film.

I guess there are no lego dogs.

  • If the voices were normal it would be so much better

  • When the claw bit off the lego man's head I lol'd.

  • oh so the reason why it was smashing peoples heads of was so it could add to its body...huh that didnt happen in the remake .good video

  • there was a remake??? Like a less violent remake or something??? that sucks!

  • John Carpenter's movie, the one this lego feature was made after, IS the remake. I never saw the original but after the remake you just cant beat it.

  • So you've seen the remake but not the original...how do you know the remake is better? Some one told me there were less gore and blood in the remake, is that right?

  • The Carpenter one isn't a remake of the first THING, it's another version of Who Goes There? The first one had very little gore, but was VERY suspenseful. And Carpenter's has a good bit of gore and the atmosphere is alot scarier. And Carpenter's version is closer to the original story then the Howard Hawk's version is.

  • Well ok if you want to be all technical and everything it wasn't truly a "remake".

Did you see the first version? How was it? I have always been a bit curious. Would you recommend it?

  • Yeah I would definetly recommend it. Being that it was made in the 50's it was very suspenseful for it's time. I have it on DVD and I've watched it a bunch.

  • There's very little violence, but if you like the Carpenter one, you should check out the old one too. Even more, check out the original short story. :)

  • stupid voices spoil it all

  • What's with the chipmunk voices ? Pretty cool though

  • Go out and see the real original 'The Thing From Outer Space'

  • I fucking love lego-thinging-out with the little lego tentacles! It's almost adorable!

  • that was pretty sweet. the sound that the thing makes every time it's found out is hilarious.

  • Hilarious.

I loved the "alien" sound effect!

  • that's dumb

  • Despite the voices, this has serious atmosphere. The movement is so well done!

  • Despite the voices, this has serious atmosphere. The movement is so well done!

  • oo man only if the voices were normal..
