hey i just got a w6 and im new to this and i dont kno know shit about amps and crap so how many watts do i need to power the sub?? can anyone help

@MrJota619 You should shoot for an amp that not only pushes at least 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms (assuming they are the version 2 w6s), but also has a high signal to noise ratio, and a low THD factor.... I personally would get an Alpine PDX-1.1000, Alpine MRP-M1000, JL 1000/1, or Rockford P1000-1bd... all those amps push out at least 1000rms at 2ohms, which is more than what you need butyou can keep the gain nice and low where it should be... a JL 500/1 would be sufficient too even though its 500RMS

You should upgrade the sub amp. Great 4 channel and awesome subs, the only weak spot is the ap powering those subs. Atleast you're not over powering them :)

I would say either get the JL 1000/1 or get two JL 500/1. The two 500/1's will give a little more power but all in all its about the same. JL makes some of the best amps and I wouldn't give my W6's anything else.

If your strapped for cash, JL subs go very good with hifonics amps. Check out the Hifonics BRUTUS series. it will not dissapoint. also, by the looks of it, thats what this guy has in his car! ;)

For sure its a great amp...when I made this video I didn't have it bridged to 1 ohm. It really pounded when I did bridge it down, but then I took out the system. It will be in my new car for sure stay tuned...

Bro I would but I the New HI fonics is nice too and ALOT cheaper. Plus I am getting a third sub . My amp now is only up 3/4 level.
