I'm a big fan of both Madonna and Tori and they are BOTH very talented. Just in very different ways in my opinion. Obviously Tori thinks Madonna is a pretty decent song writer as well or she wouldnt bother to cover this song. Stop with the who's better. You can't really compare someone like madonna who is a real performer and entertainer to tori who sits behind a piano and belts her heart out. Both women are fantastic. Can't we leave it at that?

You're right! For instance, she says "naime" instead of "name", "tick" instead of "take" and changes "ss" sounds for "shh" sounds ("out of the shhky" is irritating for the ears), some of her word-endings are unconventional : let's not forget that she's from North Carolina and married with a Brit. Besides, in this cover, I'm sorry to say she mixes up lyrics. But needless to say she's a wonderful artist!

This is really good Madonna cover! I love it:) But Madonna is still the Queen and her version is much better!:) I was just wondering why Tori says "I can feel your prayer" in the end. That's not how it really goes. It's still "I can feel your power" in the end too. Sorry about this complaining:D It just bothers me:D But very good cover still. She made it her own way and that's good.

While I can understand just where you're coming from, you'll (hopefully) hear that Tori's version has more of a message and less of a poppy beat. She is a master at that. She awakens the actual meaning of the lyrics and makes sure that those LISTENING will hear and understand it. That's the beautiful thing about Tori's covers. Yes, the original IS still the original (and best in the eyes of some), but... ;-}

wow she does mix up the lyrics alot I know this song the best out of all of Madonna's songs. It sounds pretty though. i find it sad that in a recent tour madonna did she mixed up the lyrics herself that was just dumb getting your own song wrong.
