Thanks Buddy! It's cool to feel like a little 16 year-old walking erection everytime I hear this tune! We thought our scat was febreeze-ish (fuck those AC/DC assholes). We sure got laid alot more acting sensetively than the Lugins ever did...
I'd heard of a 9.5 minute track, but never an 11-minute one. I have a rockin' version of "Bluebird" (w/ Stills orgasmically primal vocals at one point) on a compilation (2-disc "Superstars of the '70s") album called "Heavy Metal" (w/ tracks from MC5, James Gang, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Blues Image and more). I have never heard it anywhere else.
There was an 11 minute version of this song that was rarely played. I taped it on an old reel-to-reel tape recorder off a SF radio station and I still have it . Maybe I can find someone to transfer it for me. It is quite a jam session. I can't imagine why they never mass-released it.
It was released in 1973 on the double LP entitled "Buffalo Springfield". You can probably find one at your local record shop or eBay for $5.00-$10.00.
Thanks for posting - I only have the mono 45 with the edit point at 1:58. Whoever did the mono mastering had fun riding the faders! Why they still bother releasing the poncy stereo masters is beyond me.
Was looking at a photo that I took of a bluebird and suddenly this song popped into my head. Groovy song from a groovy time. Thanks for the post, bro'.
I used to own that one. I liked to smoke a thinny and catch the bus for school. The driver was cool, he used to stop on the highway for me. God. I sure thought I was hell sans wheels.... Driver was a cool dude tho'...You'd never see that happen these days.
I have this in mono too ....how ? I have absolutely no idea.. lol Mono version is better I'm thinkin' .....

I have the 45 of this. Mr. Soul is the B-side.
Yep, it's original Atco. Belonged to my folks.
Pointless info, but oh well.

She got soul. I imagine a line like that in any song these days, much less being applied to one these days.
Best all out acoustic solo laid down by anybody.

I really love the way Steve and Neil bounced acoustic & electric leads off each other. Powerful stuff.
