The console versions used to get terrible reviews, and the n64 version is arcade perfect! I never understood what the hell the reviewers were looking for, I always used to see reviews like 4.5/10

As much as I love this game on n64, lately I've been getting a huge urge to buy NBA Jam T.E. for PS1. Even with the load times, it's the closest you can get to having the arcade version of NBA Jam on a console. There is just something about NBA Jam..the players move a little different, sound, rosters

That theory never made any sense to me. Why are Jordan, Barkley, and Bogues "unable to appear in the game" due to contracts/filming etc with Space Jam, yet Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, and Shawn Bradley all still managed to appear in the game?

Also, Jordan didn't appear in either of the NBA Jams, when he wasn't in any sort of movie contractual agreements.
