Truffle oil is not like normal oil,if you cook with it,the heat will kill its flavor, and fresh truffle only pro chefs can actually get the most out of this,so if you don't know how to use it,don't waste your time and money. a really good way to taste its flavor,is in soups.
Truffles take a lot of effort to harvest. The best and most expensive ones are found in the wild. You don't just sit down and eat a raw truffle, you use it as garnish on a dish or to add flavor.
for a 130 gram truffle worth $ 200 bucks you would think they use some sort of special diging device ....0_o..... nope just a spoon, thats how the rich get richer ha ! I want one ^_^
now before you wasteful people eat this shit, think about the dog might have sniffed and licked it, the man have touched it, shit being underground , which is dirty. GL
hi guys, if any of you have any questions about truffles i wrote something on my blog about it. also if you have any questions i'll be happy to answer them. the address is chizid () blogsp0t () com
@HoNam1011 I'm not saying it IS nasty. I'm just saying that it doesn't seem like the kind of thing, if trapped in the wilderness, I would pick up and eat.
I have some tatufo chocolate that I brought back from my trip to Italy, I think it was Assisi or Verona that I got it in, can't remember but anyways it is really a unique taste, very different, earthy, and strong. I also managed to pick up some white and black oil. Havn't used any yet. It was a reasonable price though, I might add. But umm does anyone have any ideas for recipes I might use truffle oil in. I've heard of it being used in mashed sweet potato and some other things but yah.
wow.. are these people fucking idiots? "truffle dogs"?
lol.
everyone knows pigs are evolved to sniff out truffles. they have a far keener sense of smell and much more sensitivity to the specific odor of the truffle.
@sharpnova2 well it's actually the more modern way of doing it, we see this a lot even in Italy, France etc. The truffle hogs are much harder to control, and in some cases they end up eating the truffles
I've never eaten truffle before. I've always wondered what they taste like. Some delicacies are popular simply because they are difficult to find/produce. I wonder if this is the case with truffles? Hopefully they are absolutely delicious.
They mentioned that rainy season makes it easier to hunt for truffles, this is because water is a solvent that easily dissolves organic chemicals such as truffle's smell is a form of organic chemical. Try moisturizing the linings of your nose and your smelling sensitivity will increase by 2x.
how you plant truffles?but I heard that the world best truffle is in italy i'snt true?I really really want to see a fresh truffle and I'd like to taste it!I live in Norway...I just wondering why there is no truffle growing in norway..where can I buy a fresh truffle?
why they call it hunt? those blokes already marked all the truffles. In France ppl use pigs, but change to more dumber animal like dogs (pigs would eat the truffle when they find one)
pigs are smarter than dogs. but the dogs are very social animals and that is why they are easier to train and they dont eat the truffles when they find them.
Pigs do try to eat them. The idea of the pig is that they have a much stronger smell and they can pick up where they are, so when the pig smells it and finds it they start to dig, and that's when the owner pulls the pig away, and carefully dig up the truffle :)
can someone tell me why the truffles are soooo expensive ? plus do they have the most attractive Taste in the world that everyone wants to eat them and craves for 'em ? what does it taste like ?
ya i know. the reason there so expensive isnt because they taste so good its because human beings are stupid they think that just because theres not a lot of something that makes it valuable. There for rich jerks that cant think of a better way to spend there money. They probably just taste like some fancy mushroom. There are children starving all over the world and people think eating a 200 dollar mushroom is a better way to spend money instead of feeding an entire village for a whole day.
I know that and truly appreciate your comments about whats going on in the world ,my grandma says she grew-up on only potatoes and thats pretty much it, I think the world can be a better place if most of us start thinking like YOU. thank you
