I think it's funny people try to keep squirrels out. I feed the squirrels and use rat traps to keep the birds out. They work great... SNAP...one less thieving bird. Squirrels are cute, birds are all gross and fluttery.

Red pepper flakes!  The squirrels won't eat it, but the birds will. The Blue Jays in fact will try to pic them out. Might try cayenne pepper!

@katmood Fun fact, if you didn't already know: it's cuz they don't have the receptors to pick up the chemical that makes them spicy (it's called Capsaicin).

Mammals have them, but bird, strangely, do not, though birds do have a burning reaction to methyl anthranilate, which is a grape extract we use in grape soda and candy. Basically, grape soda is like pepper spray to birds!
