  • i like the quads or dirt bikes in the back

  • Should have installed an Equinox or a Vortex.

  • @sirenfan97 A Vortex would have been preferred by not only myself, but the EMA as well. If they had gone that route, there was a high chance they would've ended up in a lawsuit because the Federal dealer was bitching about them "not giving other bidders a fair chance at being awarded the project". I mean, there's a freakin reason behind that, called YOUR PRODUCT SUCKS! (as evidenced here) I'm just hoping the city/county sues for this siren not performing to the specs they were sold on, and wins.

  • Shame on FS

  • RIP RSH-10 :( nice vid, Ian.

  • @amtrak3501 Don't worry, it's in good hands now (no, not with Allstate LOL). Thanks man!

  • @murrfarms ha! thats funny. gonna post a vid from Monroe county MI tomorrow of a 3016.

  • NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    They removed the T-beam :[

  • Would you say you were getting about 80 to 85 DB from that distance, or is that pushing it? Was the wind blowing from the same direction as the siren?

If I were to make a distance recording of a 2001, I'd record from either 1/4 or 1/5 mile away.

  • @LouisvilleTorn8o I think that may be a stretch lol. I'd probably say 70dB was more feasible than 80 or so at the distance I was from the siren. The wind was blowing to the north at times I believe, and I was west of the siren. I wish I could have gotten a little bit closer to it without being too close, but unfortunately there wasn't another spot to park between here and being roughly 250ft away from it. I'd have much rather been 1/4 mile out than the 1/2 mile distance I was at.

  • I feel bad for areas only covered with 2001s and the parts that get a lot of traffic

  • @carexpertandy Oh I know, it can't possibly cover well enough to compensate for ambient noise like that. I can say that the Thunderbeam that once stood here was so much louder than this heaving pile of crap is. I've heard that one from the same spot I recorded this 2001, and it packed a much bigger punch when the disk reflected the sound toward me. They should have asked about purchasing an Equinox if they wanted to go with Federal that bad, it would have performed SO much better.

  • At the beginning, I thought that low engine noise was the siren. I wtf'd pretty hard. xD

  • Why was the RSH-10 Replaced?

  • @sirenfan97 They used the lame narrow-banding excuse to replace it with something new, since this area was hit by an EF2 tornado in 2008 and the Thunderbeam lost power. The other two remaining Thunderbeams will be replaced soon too, for the same reason. The T-beam was still very healthy when it was removed, and performed so much better than this thing does.

  • whats the difference between the 2001-130 and 2001's with AC and DC currents they all sound the exactly alike whats the difference between the two?
