@masterbassist93 Actually, Keaton caught a lot of grief when he first started for resembling Jack. That, and Keaton is not his real name, but is taken from his love of Buster Keaton. His real name is actually Michael Douglas, believe it or not.
@SlashManEXE When it comes to Jack vs Heath, there is no battle. They are both great in their own way because they are radically different takes on the character, So one will not win over the other, they are both iconic.
Jack playing the dark shite version on Joker would be un fucking touchable. Jack was as psycho as ledger but in a totally different way. Bale is a shit actor and a "fuckin ametur" bruce wayne/batman
@86Stooy I totally agree... anyone who doesn't realize how truly dark Nicholson's Joker was just doesn't have a clue. I'm so sick of people going on about Nicholson vs. Ledger. These are two completely different movies that are equally dark in their own ways.
@ShadesAtKnight You do realize that Jack Nicholson played the Joker in the comics right? Also i don't see him walking around in a purple suit with chalk white skina nd green hair in any other films. Do you?
@ShadesAtKnight In what comic does the Joker dress like a hobo, wield a knife, and spews out philiosphical bullshit? Oh by the way, as great as Heath ledger was he was high as fuck in that movie. He had a drug problem (on and off) for years. Also if the Dark Knight is sooo accurate then how come Two-Face isn't shcizophrenic? How come his face isn't scarred by acid? Which was actually more logical then setting him on fire becaus ethe fire would have spread to all over his body
@starkiller20293 First of all, Ledger created something that was completely original for the Joker, yet completely worked. And no, Ledger was a dedicated actor who died from a bad combination of perscription medication. I'm not saying he never took illegal drugs, but you lack a brain if you think Ledger's Joker was the result of him being "high as fuck". You know nothing about acting or dedication to a role. And read The Killing Joke you fool!
And when did I say Dark Knight was 100% accruate?
@ShadesAtKnight And you're complaining about Two-Face? How about Keaton's Batman, killing people left and right. By the end of Burton's run, Batman has a higher body count than Joker, Penguin and Catwoman combined! Batman killed for ONE YEAR in comics. That's one year out of 70+ years. Just quit trying to sound like you know something, and read some propper Batman titles. Long Halloween, Killing Joke, Year One. And tell me when you find Joker being some old mobster with a name and actual origin.
@ShadesAtKnight You said it yourself, Batman was able to kill in the comics. He doesn't like to, but it's only when other lives are at risk. Besides, the Killing Joke was the only source material Ledger had, he said that he just couldn't read the comics. Not that it makes him bad, but it certainly doesn't put you in any position to bash the Burton films. Besides, there's more people mindlessly "worshipping" Ledger, as opposed to giving Jack his props.
@ShadesAtKnight It's people like you that think it was 100% accurate and i'm sorry what made Heath Ledger such an amazing actor in that particular movie ( asid efrom the movies he was actually deserving of an oscar in like Fight Club or Brokeback Mountain). I'm not an actor but I do know how stressful it is and he locked himself in a hotel room for months studying The Joker and Jcak nicholson's and Cesar romero's performances. yes he did add his own spin, I just wasn't a huge fan of it.
@starkiller20293 Ok I'm done with you, because you've just proven your stupidity. Number one, Heath Ledger was not in Fight Club. Number two, he locked himself in a hotel room to create the character and drew influences from A Clockwork Orange. He was a fan of Nicholson's and has publicly said that there'd be no point revisiting that performance.
So kid, go enjoy your murding Batman, with the old/fat mobster Joker, the dipshit Gordon and the scream-every-minute Vickie. I'm gunna watch Begins.
Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson look related. Because of the same eyebrow style. Almost like they could be brothers. They are the perfect versus match in Batman!
My God, a lot of the old school "Batman" folks were present for this one. Hey, does Keaton remind anyone else of Nicholson? Come on--those eyebrows, that maniac disturbed energy? Keaton, Nicholson--and Christian Slater. Just THINK about what kind of movie the three of them could make together?
Jack has always been one of my favorite actors. I hope he finds Jesus and salvation before anything should happen to him. God bless you Jack where ever you are. :-)
My name is DENNIS WOODRUFF, People say i'm a great actor. i've aways admired your films and wondered if you would give an unknown like myself the chance to prove so in one of your films. My phone number is 323-848-7164 and my agents name is craig 818-761-0580. You could even have Jane call me for an audition. tjhanks, D.W.
It is stupid to compare Nicholson to Ledger and Keaton to Bale and Burton to Nolan. They all did a 100 percent job on the characters. Although Nolan did offer a way bigger story line, both movies were A+.
@elegance99 So how exactly did Bale kill the terminator franchise? He did not write the script, direct the movie, or produce the movie. He wasnt in part 3 either which already killed the franchise.
he made it's production a laughing stock with his infamous rant... killed the film by being more famous and popular than the film ever will be. He killed it by eclipsing it and making it famous not for the movie but for the memorable news week that come from that one incident.
@colliric Ressurect Brando and replace Bale in terminator 4 and the film is still garbage. So your telling me this was some kind of masterpiece but Bale single-handedly wrecked the movie? lol okay. So by your logic, if Robert DeNiro had an arguement with a dp behinf the scenes of raging bull, that would have miraculously turned that movie into shit...
I kind of agree with you, but Bale's antics didn't help the press coverage of the film and it was more famous for that rather than the actual "quality" of the film itself. Tom Cruise argubally did the same thing for M:I3 when he "couch jumped" on Oprah...
That's why I think it's unfair how people say Ledger is better than Jack in the role because Jack only did what was required of Burton's Batman.
Put Jack in The Dark Knight as the Joker under Nolan's direction and you would see somthing equally frightening and perhaps even more scary than Ledger.
@proximo20 they are both great, but jack's is the best because that joker character portrayed the original (cartoons & comics). Ledger's portrayed a realistic one which is great in its own way too
@proximo20 In all reality imagine how Michael Keaton would have acted as the Joker in the Dark Knight. He would blow that role out of the water. He does "insane" very very well.
@proximo20 jack nicholoson dude, he got lucky, i will admit he was great excelent in chinatown, and one flew over cucckoo's nest, but heath takes the win for brokeback mountain sorry bud. And ya the fucking heath ledger's joker, its so god dam overrated. i like jacks better

Don't forget Danny DeVito. He gave one of the best performances of a comic book villain and i think one of the best performances of the 90's. DeVito disappeared into the Penguin, he doesn't get any credit poor guy.
@Riddler95 boo-ya. val kilmer is an amazing actor but made bat man seem like a butt pirate. same with clooney but they are amazing actors just not comic book character actors. depp would have done a great job on BM 3 OR BM 4 given a better screenplay.
