    :-)

  • Loving this! R.I.P The Heavster

  • Happy new year Funk!!

  • It's so fucked up that so much good artists from the golden era have to die, Guru - Nate Dogg - Heavy D, and other prominents before them ofcourse... Eazy, Pac, Biggie, Big L, Pun. Hiphop wouldn't be the same as it is now. Although maybe some of them would have gone nothing but commercial too.

    Nice video anyway! :)

  • happy new year dude, just gonna keep checkin your channel out in 2012! :) stay healthy!

  • I guess there is a single version of the song? i have an mp3 where the synths are clean by themselves...but maybe you didn't play it from the beginning? i always wondered what the rest of the album sounded like. Thats one of those samples where the rap version is kind of better than the original.

  • @veuvecliquot I agree. I looked on the 12" of Love Cares and another single of theirs but couldn't find any non-album versions of "Ecstasy" which clearly they had access to.

  • @funktuall hmm.. the mp3 I have has an extended sax horn at the beginning, followed by a the synths. Idk if that one is on youtube. I think i got it off a vinyl blog cuz you can hear it's a vinyl rip on the mp3. Does the rest of the album have anything else headnod worthy? thanx for showing the cover.

  • @funktuall IDK man,...I listened 2 the both of them back to back.

Heavy's synths are more defined and played at a slightly lower octave, which suggest to me that it was just replayed on another keyboard instead of being a direct sample.

This would make it more of an 'interpolation' as they call it, instead of a 'sample'

Trackmasters and other producers are well known for their replaying of music and adding thicker drum tracks to them.

I have even done it myself LOL

    Just a thought

  • @funktuall Also check out Jam City's refix of Ecstasy. It's a jam!

  • last sample of the year! are u saying im gona have to wait 48hrs for the next one!?!
