  • Such a pity they're so rare on the streets (in Germany anyway). So far I only saw it once on the autobahn here. I have to go to the museum to find it and then everytime I could easily stare at it for an hour (but touching it is even better of course :o))

  • yup with the DOT headlights preinstalled in GERMANY

  • Not all of the shots are from first shipment. It can be easily spotted that some of the cars are equiped with silver alloys with black hubcaps with were introduced further into production.

  • They all go 88 MPH.

  • amazing beautiful music to go along with it

  • 1.21 gigawatts

  • quante cazzo di delorean!! me ne basterebbe solo una!

  • i fucking want one they can make them new beacuse when the they went out some one bout all the parts and they can make a brand new 30 year old car

  • some day ill have one

  • This is the best thing I saw

  • I was born in1993and this is truly the best thing I saw

  • @Mr250309 go get laid...

  • @mylanman hahahaha well said

  • wow, what is this footage from?

  • Shame one didnt roll of and come to my house !!

  • @Jsp454 lol...it runs out of momentum just as it coasts into your driveway.

  • @MixedMartialFartist Exactly !!

  • My favorite car from the 80's

  • this music is absolutely, awful and perfect.

  • i just cried

  • thats cool

  • Den Transporter mit Ladung hätte ich auch gerne *träum*

  • This almost made me cry...

  • I'm sad that I may never have a chance to own one of these.

  • @klumzypinoy me 2

  • The music is from The Secret of my Success

  • The music is from The Secret of my Success

  • They look so abundant in this video!

    Where'd they all go???

6000 estimated left in the world. >.>

  • @Sparkkoz the appropriate question is When'd they all go???

  • @teeheeisme Wikipedia says about 6,500 of the 9000 cars manufactured can still be seen on the streets.

  • @kaltblut Correct.

  • Im so glad John Delorean could support the American Economy by having the Netherlands build these. It is no secret that we go through more toasters, ovens and other appliances in this country that makes these crappy automobiles. They even upped the dorkiness of the video by adding white lab coats.

  • @centsless302 faggot, the delorean was a super nice car at the time, and John Delorean was in Ireland when he built these cars so he hurt the Irish economy not the United States Economy...

  • Nice vid, nice music :)

  • o my god ,cheesy music much?

  • cool video...GAYYYYY music...wind beneath my wings? really!!!!? wtf!

  • imagine if one of these is resting at the bottom of the ocean full of Deloreans? holyshit goldmine!

  • This video makes me wonder "where the fuck did they all go?!?!"

    Lmao :P

  • just cuz its from the 80s doesnt mean i wanna hear this synthesized crap...gimme some fucking acdc or foreigner, or styx

  • there is a guy in brooklyn that has had one in his yard for years and wont sell it.a frind of my dad had one when i was a kid. he gave it to his son and he totaled it

  • This video should come with a warning,

A video with this music has to contain adult content somehow.

  • NICE MUSIC

  • The first and last shipments, lol. You know DMC is back, run in Texas out of a warehouse. Mainly restores and sells these.

  • sold mine in 2000,Its back in north irland now

  • shits fuckin ugly and unsafe as hell to id rather be caught in a civic its faster better looking and i wont die i i hit anything bigger than a small dog

  • @breakinghabitx Hhaha. Thats funny because you probably can't afford a DeLorean and have to buy a honda to get your ass around

  • @breakinghabitx

Unsafe huh? I own one and have been using it as a daily driver for over a year without any trouble. Oh, and regarding your comment about the speed, I cant tell you how many Civics I passed in the DeLorean. Also, the DeLorean is one of the safest cars ever built. Do some research and see for yourself. One more thing, I've never had one single person say the car is ugly. Everyone that approaches me says the car looks beautiful, awesome, classic etc... Looks like you lose...

  • @Venkman1912 Fellow owner of a daily driver D here as well and you're correct Venkman1912. Used to drive an '01 WS6 Trans Am that I built the motor and tranny on myself and ran 10's in the quarter all day long. I have more fun now than I ever did in that car with my D. While it's not the monster the T/A was it's easily a better car. 30 years old and fires up EVERY time. Never gotten ugly comments but you can tell who gets jealous of the attention it grabs, or takes away from.....

  • great, i got a delorean. now where to look for a flux capacitor?

  • @TMNT39 I got it :)

  • @Cescus86 alright, good. ok we got everything. alright lets. . .DANGET THE PLUTONIUM! lol ;)

  • si me gano la loteria me compro un delorean en vez que un ferrari xD

  • proud owner of restored vin 00018

  • ICEBERG, RIGHT AHEAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • only four of these cars came with the optional bottle opener welded to the rear quarter pannel.

  • My Dream car ever since I was a Child, and I saw Back to the Furture :)

  • it must be fun to drive one of those

  • These cars were so far ahead of their time. They had bugs mind you, but they weren't in production long enough to correct them. RIP DMC and RIP John.

  • this video still gets me. I've seen it over and over, and I still cry. Once again, excellent.

  • The only car made that the hood ornament was a spoon!

  • one is soon to be a time machin :)

  • @pieisgood928 Actually, six of them. In total, six 1981 DMC-12s were used in the production of the movie trilogy. If I'm not mistaken, that's one for each movie, with a crash/damage backup.

  • I feel like im in my old high school gymnasium waiting for the prom to start with this music lol

  • hi Neal.

would not have thought 901 was aboard, nor mine vin 1621, brilliant car, brilliant vid.

unless the first shipment started way after vin 500 (were there any 'company cars' on this shipment

  • its a real pitty that boat didnt sink!

  • @2009jimmy2009 Haha shut the fuck up dick head

  • "recommended for you:"

    Youtube knows me so well.

Man I need one of these.

  • Wow. 2:43. Thats a lot of DeLoreans.

  • @Trance88 There was 379 Deloreans were loaded that day. Easter Sunday 1981.

  • 3 people are morons because they didn't like this video...

  • here they come.. full of heroin..

  • @KapteinOpel I DONT FIND THAT FUNNY!

  • @KapteinOpel lolz... wasn't it coke?

  • they are so beautiful!

  • I'd love to get my hands on one. Such iconic cars.

  • @bmused55 I agree, but I wonder how much of that is because of BTTF. Otherwise, they were fairly unremarkable. Slow, heavy, hard to do body work on. The Yugo and Bricklin were other short run, unique cars, but no one wants a Yugo, and no one's even heard of the Bricklin.

  • @samurphy Not heavy at all, and well, slow I'll give you. But that was more america's emissions standards being ahead of technology than anything else.

And I'm pretty sure they cranked out yugos for years.

  • i dont care what u think of me but i love the delorean i think its a great car its not all about whats under the hood

  • Sorry but I have to correct you, the first shipment left the factory in Dunmurry on January 21st, 1981 with a total of 100 deloreans. And this first shipment was done by a special Boeing freighter plane

  • I like the delorean but are very expensive, 80000.00 U.S., deveria down a little price

  • do u guys even hear your selves it's a piece of tin foil on wheel the crash test was shit but bttf was good movie

  • crash test ratings from that time are 5.5 out of 7, supposedly. Actually stood up well in the crash test. May look daunting, but the cabin stays intact

  • @Crockettsonny84 No man. Look closer. The only thing this car is good for is looks.

  • @diver362 why dont you do a little more reading on the car. You may learn something

  • @Crockettsonny84 oh yes i ahve done so mr.crocket the car was a complete abysmal, don't defend the car, theres no point, it was a total fail because it didnt lead to anything attriuting to the auto industry besides the fact of automakers not making the same mistake john delorean did.but id love to have one great collectors car.

  • @diver362 From the way you talk about DeLoreans I dont think you should own one. Why would you want a piece of tin foil?

  • @Crockettsonny84 because im a hipocrite thank you very much

  • @diver362 A piece of tin foil on wheels as you call it, cost £16000 or $32000 back in 81. I call it the DMC 12. Belfast's other Titanic.

  • @NEALDMCL I call it a waste of £16000

  • The Perfect Personal Luxury car, in 1981 and even now, this car turned more heads than any other one. Long live to the Stainless Steel dream Machine!

  • drool... 0_o they're so beautiful with the cheesy 80's music. :D

  • the last car dream

  • a classic case of "who cares what it drives like, just look at it!!"

    a beautiful machine

  • the first De Lorean said:"this is a one small step for a car but a giant leap for DMC"

  • The guy who owns The Hundreds in LA has a custom made DeLorean with a black finish. Super lucky.

  • The Doc was hiding and was ready to steal one. ;)

  • @arkinjin11 just like he did with the plutonium

  • @arkinjin11 I hope he goes back in time and gets me one =]

  • my DMC is in there somewhere. 00901

  • @Crockettsonny84

    Mine too 1949

  • @PegasusStars Part of the first shipment? Yours an April build?

  • Not April, but July.

  • @PegasusStars The first shipment was made during April off '81

  • @Crockettsonny84 00962 was the smallest number of the VIN number... ;) your was somewhere there

    (sorry for my bad English)

  • @86MajkL86 come to think of it, there were problems with most of the first 500 cars, so some of them were kept in Ireland. The first hundred were most definitely left in Ireland. So If the first 400 were shipped there would be some from the range of 6XX-1XXX vins coming across

  • @Crockettsonny84 mine, 01735 was one of the last with grey wheels too

  • @Crockettsonny84 thats awesome

  • @Crockettsonny84 fucking lucky. trade ya an '83 Benz TD! i love it to death but i wouldn't hesitate to cheat on it with a Delorean. haha

  • @Crockettsonny84 Nice, my bike frame is 0006, love it

  • @Crockettsonny84 Awwww damn do u still have it?

  • @Crockettsonny84 my cousin has one, 1981, no idea what the chassis number is

but one day i will get to LA and drive it

hope u enjoy it everytime u drive it :)

  • @Crockettsonny84 Mine should be in there too! 005444!

  • A momentous day in history.......

  • Do you mean as a lethal crash machiene comparable to a giant blender or do you mean to the cool, back to the future design?

  • @honussa Back to the Future.

  • everytime i see this car i think of back to the future right away

  • duh

  • BTTF may have immortalised this car, but there is much more to the Deloren story.

  • @schumacher500 It more or less turned the car into a joke. Then again, if the movie didnt come out no one would know what a DeLorean even is. No matter what, from an Owner's standpoint its a lose/lose situation

  • Sounds very St. Elmos Fire.

I can't wait till I get this car!

  • I own car number 958, and i never see it any pictures or videos from back then... :-( The closest to my car is on this video...car number 962 getting on to the ship via the ramp.

  • one day I will have this car!

  • as far as i know it's actually a peugeot engine.

  • almost, its a PRV Peugeot, Reneault and Volvo.

  • yap, read about that shortly after writin that comment :D

  • Developed by Colin Chapman. Am I right?

  • Developed by John Delorean...

Colin Chapman checked the car when they made the prototypes. John was too picky with Colin Chapman's thoughts and Improvements to be made and the sales of the Delorean Evaporated in 1983.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • and that's how it all began.... i wish i had a delorean .

  • Um what xardas0009 said, I think.

  • Breathtaking

  • Piękne autko !!!

  • John Delorean to prawdziwy geniusz. Jego dzieło przerasta pięknością wszystkie inne pojazdy.

    DMC-12 to prawdziwa perła szus.

    *-: *-: ..:KOCHAM CIĘ DELOREAN:.. :-* :-*

  • Ha Im From Northern Ireland And I Watched That Shipment Go Out I Know It Doesnt Show It But The Streets Where Lined With People Screaming Long Live The Delorean I Also Met John Such A Good Guy .

liar, , because i was there. lol

  • @NEALDMCL Ah hey Neal! I wanted to thank you for your stories that you have posted on DMCTALK. Its nice to know we still have inside men around

  • @Crockettsonny84 Thank you for your comment, sorry for late reply got side tracked.

  • U know if it wernt for john delorean we wouldnt have had a great peformance from Back To The Future that car made that film what it is and everytime i ask people name something to do with back to the future its always delorean. So i would like to say thank you John delorean For giving us one hell of a great car.

  • now that that is cleared up, to the uploader: this is a very nice video, I love it, and I will be watching it frequently because it makes me feel good. John Z. DeLorean was a good man and an automotive genius, he gave us, not just the DeLorean DMC-12, but the GTO as well! which was the world's first muscle car! I love the video, thank you for posting it :)

  • I wonder if it came with matching luggage bags full of John's Finest Blow in the trunk.

  • FUCK YOU ASSHOLE! I just did a report on that very incident, and he never even got a-hold of the drugs, the charges he was arrested on were: conspiring to buy illegal narcotics! not buying them, he was thinking about it and never even bought any, he was entrapped in a time of desperation! YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE FOR MAKING FUN OF A DEAD MAN'S DREAM!!!!! A DREAM THAT WAS SHATTERED AND RUINED HIS LIFE!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! Holy shit someone needs to lay off the cocaine.

  • AND SECOND OF ALL I know. I read about how he was raliroaded and all that great stuff. I can't help that. I just don't think we need to get up in arms about "popular misconceptions" vs. "Witty one liners". I appologize if my comment was off hand and ill timed.

I'm gonna go crush the dreams of some Supra owners.

  • it is ok, just dont judge a book by it's cover is all i meant to say, I just got kinda offended :l

    5dmc1

  • What happened to the Supra?

  • umm who cares about a supra?

  • Comment removed

  • Cool. However the first shipment of Deloreans brought to the US were by plane and came into New York.

  • Sorry you are wrong, The first shippment of 375 cars went on easter sunday 19th April 1981. and went to the west coast.

How do I know, because I was there.!

The plane load went on june 1981.

  • the car of my dream the crator of th deloreaon got areested

  • this music reminds me of good times

  • i'm going to get one of these and see if they really can travel to the future. hahahahahahaha

    its a cool car!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I will buy one of these one day!!!! This is the best car ever!!!!

  • You can any color of Delorean you want as long as it's stainless. lol

  • hey there! If you mean that people "can [have] any color of DeLorean [they] want as long as it's stainless", not exactly true. The reason you see few DeLoreans in color is because people who purchased a DeLorean might have had a professional apply the paint over the stainless steel.

After it has been painted, it is no longer a stainless steel car. It is a car like any other car.

It is very hard for paint to stick to the stainless steel. That's why there are very few with color.

  • Yea that quote was just joke using Henry Fords famous saying about his Model T Ford. The only other color I like for the Delorean is the 24k gold plated one even though they're expensive and rare. Stainless is the perfect color for the Delorean. I rode in a Delorean for the 1st time a few days ago. IT WAS AWESOME! The V6 felt like it had some tourqe. Hopefully I'll be able to get one, but until then I'll just have to drool. Long Live the Stainless Wonder!

  • i think there were like 3 painted deloreans from the factory. i think they had plans to start to paint some

  • i think there were like 3 painted deloreans from the factory. i think they had plans to start to paint some .

No cars were painted at the factory

  • Dieses Auto ist schon mein Traum seit ich ein kleiner junge war! Das ist ein super video!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ein Traum von einem Traum!!!!!!

  • It can still be like that delivering them world wide if we all had dealers all over

  • which ones yours then, erm, its the silver one!

  • Hahaha, if it weren't for license plates, that would have been a major problem xD

  • They need to bailout DeLorean. Without them the economy will fail. See it's already happening now.

  • The company does actually still exist.

  • Yeah! They need some bailout money. I been to the website. It's pretty cool.

  • what's the name of this gorgeous song?

  • Gazebo by David Foster.

  • I sat in one today with a twin turbo engine. It was really beautiful. It was real comfortable to sit in. It was like sitting on a couch. It also had a performance exhaust. Sounded really good. If I wasn't so poor right now I would buy one!

  • Nice Video but definitely not the first shipment or all the cars would have had a gas flap.

  • A timeless design.... and an icon af a wonderfull era.

    I loved the eighties,

just looking at a DeLorean makes me feel right at home.

  • Many Of The Old British Companys Who Have Gone Down! Its A Shame!

  • But DMC was an American company...

  • Yes, but the people who built them were from the UK.

  • dmc 12 produced in N Ireland

  • one kick ass car company, the cars would be as good as todays corvettes and german cars like audi and bmw
