I've been editing and publishing vidz from my Iphone via reel director for over a year with many more options... I attempted to use this app by importing some videos from my computer and iphone on my transformer and it wont even open the files... I did find a app that will open them but it has 1/10 the functionality of my iphone... summary: its crap
i have a galaxy tab and it is pretty much the same as xoom...my prob. is i want to shorten the music but i dont kniw how..coz i only want to have in my video im going to make is the chorus of the music. is there any way i can edit it.?
I'm seriously considering buying a Transformer Prime for multiple reasons, but *basic* video editing is one reason. I record H.264 usign Wirecast and would like to be able to top and tail and do basic edits on an Android tablet. Would Android Movie Studio work? Dunno. I sure hope it (or some other app) does, tho, as this would be schweeeeet! :)
@TechHarvest i agree, but if i was to edit standard definition footage i don't think it would be too bad.
however, regardless of how powerful a device is, the software shouldn't impose limits on me. It should give me the ability to do what i want. Now perhaps editing 1080p video in 3 layers is perhaps insane and will take a long time to do, but if i want to dedicate the device to that task then i should be able to.
Perhaps its the only device available to me at the time.
@RenegadeMaster07 Agreed. Tablets just aren't there yet. Even for every day tasks I feel a bit handcuffed when I use them. I always end up going back to my laptop.
@ThoseLilRabbit At this time I don't think any tablet could replace a laptop. Maybe a year or 18 months from now, but not yet. In answer to your question, that software doesn't currently exist on Android.
Excellent! Informative...concise...to-the-point...and, refreshingly free of dumb sophomoric asides. The entire series of demonstrations have sold me on the Xoom, and I appreciate knowing that I am making an informed choice...
One question about the subtitles. Is there a way to change the color of the "banner" surrounding the text of the subtitles. I don't like the dark grey or orange banners covering that much of my video so is there a way to make them transparent so that only the text is visible alone? Thanks and GREAT video!
Those without Movie Studio on their Xoom (or without a Xoom) can buy Clesh, a cross-device Cloud video editing app. There is a free trial on the web, or you can buy the Android app in the Market.
Clesh works on the Xoom, and about 30 other types of Android devices with Android 2.2 and above including Samsung Tab and Advent Vega tablets. You can also log on through desktop browsers.
The app has its own chat rooms for asking for hints and tips - which new users will benefit from.
@xxtheleegendxx Well right now the XOOM is the only Honeycomb Tablet on the market. I would assume that when other Honeycomb tablets become available they will have access to the program. As of right now the program is "Honeycomb only" as far as I know.
Hi, Im with Jaiotu about using other type of video formats. I was also wondering the same thing too. I have the iPad2 however I would like to edit videos from other source and the iPad 2 only let's you use video from iDevices. That's not good for me. Also, I'm not serious into video editing just for fun but at the same time I would like to use other fie format shot from other devices.
@AKB7410@jaiotu I have the xoom...and no, it does not edit videos from external sources.....UNLESS.....They Are 720 P, 30fps, MP4 Format, and AVC/Baseline 1 V2 Codec streamed / encoded....NOT many cameras export like that...
The file will play on the device easily...,but editing it will not work....ITS JUST LIKE IMOVIE Unfortunately :(

I haven't tried editing video from other sources on the XOOM. I'll have to look into that. However I must say that if you're serious about video editing, doing so on a tablet might not be the best solution. You'll get deeper software and more power with a desktop or high end laptop. Right now tablet video editing is good for editing a quick video but not much more. If you can you should wait for the quad core tablets coming at the end of the year.
Great. I'm between the iPad2 and the Xoom. The driving factor is video editing. I've owned both an iPhone and a DroidX and like both. iPad2 seems to have problems editing video shot from sources other than iDevices. How well does Android Movie Studio play with video shot from other sources? What formats does it support?
Hey; how do you silence the original music in the video before adding the music you want to put it to? Thanks

Dude, this is the worst review I ever seen - you just read all the labels like we got all day for you to show us you made something.

By the time your slow review was over I could download, install, figure out and uninstall the whole thing. You're so slow.

@jayr122001 Not to my knowledge. The movie editor on the XOOM is very basic, as it should be. Video editing is processor intensive.

very cool, but i would like to see a non linear editor. i don't like linear as it limits my editing style and creativity.
