did you know that shi-ho nage , four directions throw, is the most spiritual of aikido techniques, because invoking the 4 directions, you are performing a shinto rite.Steven Segal, at the beginning of one of his movies, claps his hands four times to signal the beginning of class.Aikido is steeped in the tradition of the sword, and shihonage is specifically effective for sword defense.

Sensei Boaz,just curious what about shihonage you dont care for?I personally like the technique but never felt the right energy to pull it off on a resistant opponent,could this be why?

Yeah, well, he's a 4th dan. He kinda doesn't have a choice but to know the basics. And since he's a 4th dan, he does the basics very well.
