So it's a comfy seat.. Great. You can sit in these without paying for the 'upgrade' on quiet night time FGW trains. The gulf in prices between standard and first class on UK trains is insane, and the service is never worth it.
they are on the cross county HST;s now, well the 5 that they have in stock and tht hav not been refubished yet, does anyone have any news on that btw? thanks,
It's MML HST first class. Meridians have never been on loan to any other company. New trains always stay with the company who's livery is painted on the side - but the HST's are always being moved around.
gHawk - the only reason people go first class is because it's more private - I totally agree with you about everything else. What's worse is that on Virgin you don't even get the trolly treatment - you have to walk through standard to the onboard shop at weekends.
its definately hst mk3 in the film... i've travelled on em all my life....wud know one of those anywhere...and i really really dnt see a reason to travel first class... you pay that extra money for what? a seat half inch wider and a trolley dolly bird coming round feeding you? rip off if you ask me.
Hmmm...Maybe you're right. I travelled in both HST and Meridian first class at the Weekend. The seats in this video appear a different colour (mine were bluer than they appear in this video). I did notice the 'First' lettering on the head rest though, which I don't think the Meridian has. So I agree, it's probably HST. Maybe you're aware of more differences but I've only been in them once, and I based my last comment on a photo I saw elsewhere.

How on earth can you afford to always travel first class at today's prices???

Pretty average. There are tons of better first class coaches than this.

I was sat on brown seats that looked like that once and it was definitely a FGW HST and the coaches were in FGW Barbie
