  • yeah i cant sleep at night..i dont no what it is insomnia or something but im always most creative and productive at night also.. most of the time i come up with new songs late at night....also i think their was a study done that says between 12 and 2 in the morning is when your brain is most creative or active(sleeping or awake).

  • same here in the morning im less active and such but at night im always doing more idk why its like im nocturnal lol

  • You made another peace sign! Haha!

  • Hey Shaykai! glad to see you're still around. Wow 2:30am to 6 am and 2 30 pm to 6 pm that's four hours each. i think i'm going to have to do that too with the way how my class schedule is. that's great you're eating healthy my family's diabetic. but i'm getting a head start in eating healthy so i don't wind up like them. i have a cantien too but only use when it's super cold in the morning. I put hot tea or hot chocolate in it.

  • did you end up cutting your mohawk?

and be very care full with times i now my grandad did simmilaea times and he past out

  • Dude, what does your girlfriend think about that???

  • She actually loves it. She regularly stays up till 1 or 2am naturally and I was always having to go to sleep by 11pm since I had to work so early.

  • When I have nothing to do I'm up 'til about 4-6 am and sleep til noon, but when I have stuff to do I'm up until about 3-4 and sleep until about 8-9.

  • about the water thing i drink a lot of it to every day was all ways pissing none stop but then i cut out sugar and now its fine

  • You look pretty tired and you NEVER drink anything, including water when we hang out. Glad you're downing the fluids. Had me a bit worried ; )

  • How'd it go for me?

Well... you know sleep deprivation sets in and you start wasting a lot of time doing nothing. I gave up there. But what you're supposed to do is sit through it and slowly but surely your body will adapt and allow you to go into REM faster which is what you're missing if you're just starting this program, causing you to feel terrible. Not saying that REM is the only important phase of sleep, each phase is important in which chemicals are released into the brain.

  • Do keep us posted, that is a very interesting idea.

  • nice vid man, keep yourself healthy :D

  • Hey ben it's your old friend! haha. But seriously I've been thinking about doing this, but as my rival your always one step ahead! But for cereal this time, Are you a light sleeper? cause I live with a bunch of people, and I'm a pretty light sleeper? and does this affect your social life at all or do you just work people into your busy scedule? Depending on your next vlog, i might try this.

    Thanks-

    Ninja marcus!

  • I'm an average sleeper I would say, not light, not heavy, although I do have the ability to sleep pretty much anywhere and at anytime regardless of whether or not I am really tired. So far I'm still on the first week and it doesn't seem to effect my social life much. My afternoon nap takes place between 2:30pm and 6pm which is when most people are getting off work, so I am awake if people want to hang out in the evening. I will let you know how it goes Marcus!

    Ben

  • nice bro. Pretty interesting idea. Was this kind of what you were talking about when we were in Moscow? Also, I really want one of those canteens!

  • damn you have gotten alot more ribbed since the old knife throwing days

  • Lol thanks, Boxing, Jiu-jitsu and Krav Maga will do that ;-)

Ironically now that I know HOW to fight, I would never throw a knife in self defense unless I was using it as a distraction so I could run away.

  • It's still fun to do for sport though. pretty cool. I kinda do the same thing. I go to sleep about 2 wake up a little later maybe around 7-8 than I just go to sleep when I get tired mostly around 3-5 and wake up about 7-8. I find that I am more awake to handle task everyday cause I rest my body more often but in smaller increments if that makes sense. good luck and the water does help.

  • roflmao 1 thing ive learned from my martial arts is alot of it is designed to be used agiasnt people who are also doing martial arts like the throws and grappels and stuff mainly due to the stances your oponant is standing in during training so its a bit redundant in places but never the less a good use of time, cant eat throwing a knife and legging it though lmao

  • Wanna know how to reset your sleep cycle? Read this article:

    lifehacker. com/5328706/reset-your-sleep-cycle-with-a-16+hour-fast

  • Nice to see someone blogging their new sleeping paten. Interesting. Had been thinking of doing something like that. but just have not got a round to it. Good stuff. :)

  • Man, I did the same exact thing for this last school year. Very similar times. I'm a night person and I'm tired as hell when I wake up at 6 for school lol. Deep sleep is depraved.

  • Did you end up adjusting to the new sleep cycle?

  • yo shaykai! ever go to happy donuts? on el camino... they always make fresh donuts around 12 to 1 in the morning! a very good donut shop u should check it out if ur a night owl like myself!

  • Actually I have been there, are you talking about the one in Palo Alto? I used to live around the corner from Gunn highschool so I went there a couple times. Although no donut shop compares to the happy donuts on winchester in campbell! Seriously, you should go and get the donuts with the white frosting, simply amazing!

  • exactly the one im talking about i normally go to the one in palo alto! ive never been to the other one though... interesting ill have to check it out! thanks

  • I got one of those cantines and had to piss a lot as well! LOL glad i'm not the only one. I thought i'd have to go to the doctors but you saved me a trip!

  • Haha yeah, my friend says that after a week or so your body adjusts to the extra water. I'm still in the first week though so I have to go to the bathroom a lot!

  • my friend tried doing this once.. it screwed him up so bad lol

  • Very, very interesting. I'm always had trouble with a monophasic sleep cycle, just never really got the hang of it. I would love to try to switch over to biphasic cycle, but bad things go wrong when I don't get enough sleep.

I'm excited to see how it works out! Keep us updated!

  • I will definitely keep you updated, I'm hoping to post at least one video a week on this topic.

  • you should make some ukulele vids, i see one in the background

  • Unfortunately I can't play the Uke :-( My friend is really good at it though.

  • Dude.... i tried this before. I tried polyphasic/dymaxion/and biphasic....

  • How did it go for you?

  • not sure when it happened but congrats on making partner!

  • Thanks :) It actually happened about 6 months ago but I finally got around to making my channel look pretty haha.

  • lol rat tail

  • That's what I thought, then I realized it could be a mohawk that was not waxed.

  • probably i could see him having a mowhawk

  • Check his other videos, looks like he has a mohawk.

  • Yeppers, I have a mohawk actually, I just didn't want to put it up for the video so I threw on a hat.

  • sounds cool thinking of doing that for school and work.

  • I will let you know how it goes Icutmyselfha!

  • sounds like a cool idea for you man. i used to work night shift and tried lots of different sleeping patterns, but i have found that nothing compares to 7 - 8 hours sleep during the night time.

when u said u had been awake for 10 minutes and that u were "very awake" thats coz u didnt get into a deep sleep, where you get the most rest, the same will probly happen with your night sleep. but if you keep at it your body will adjust, but dont expect it to happen in a week or 2, it could take months.

  • Thanks for the advice Skr3wson87, so far I'm feeling pretty good about it but the true test will be how I feel in a week or two. Right now I could just be surviving on 'minimal sleep' and my body is confusing being rested with being refreshed. We shall see!

  • Frozen vegetables and bake/bbq'd meat. Easy mode, my friend.

  • I've actually thought about doing something similar, but I was never sure how to cook the vegis. Just throw them in a pan with olive oil maybe?

  • were do u work?

  • I work as a bicycle mechanic, but I have to get to work at 6am.

  • eat healthy
