DrDave, Im actually considering the Blue Ray by EXI or the Exceed Genesis to get into the smaller heli's. Been flying an old Xcell .46 Graphite for a long time now. Curious on your thoughts about the clones like the EXI and Exceed helis? I was also considering buying one of the fully loaded carbon kits from EXI
Do you have to do anything more to make this thing fly after it is built? Also, is it an exact Trex450 clone and how is the overall quality? I might get one from raidentech.
"After" it's built? No. But, you do need a lot to get it built. It does appear to be 100% T-Rex 450 SA and I'm very pleased with the overall quality. Especially for the price.
I'm using all part from my esky king 2. The motor is the ek5-0005 3900kv the pinion is 13 tooth and the esk is the standard esky 25 amp ek1-0350. I even used the esky 8g servos. (ek2-0500)
But don't copy my setup as the esc overheats pretty quick. All this is goof for is hover practice rigth now. Though, I am ordering a larger esc!
YMMV but, my unit was very good. I'm very please with it. However, the main blades that they ship with are VERY heavy compared to just about anything else tht I've seen.
Thanks guys! This is my first ARF heli and I must admit that the first flight was a little scary. But, it looks like all the controls work. (And in the right directions!)
The elevator is 180 degrees different from my ESky King2 CP but, the Futaba radio is really configurable and I was able program what looked right when I moved the cyclic.
I was looking at get the 6 CH HeliPro Black Hawk 450 SE . Is that what you have here?
