  • Very creative and imaginative. Your videos are an inspiration for us all. I only wish I can make something like this someday.

FilmAddict44. Whenever you have a good or great story or want some help with it, let me know. If I don't have anything else pressing going on, I'll help you with it. Let me know. Glad to help you. :)

  • I ll understand ALL you want to transmit one day, friend!

    :o)

    I loved the mirror!!!

  • 12.23.06

Pola. This is experimental. I'll add some voice over dialog that Urgelt recorded of his poem. I'll add some sound effects and additional narration by Adrienne007 and you'll have a clearer picture. :D

  • You have a great imagination! Your films have a certain feel to them and I find myself using my own imagination while watching them. if that makes sense? Im not sure how to explain it but your films are like a mixture of art and video. Great editing :)

  • 11.23.06

Featherflow. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. I worked as an Assistant Editor for 4 Academy Award winning Film Editors and many other great editors. I am glad that I was able to learn a thing or three. ;)

Featherflow. I was the Assistant Film Editor for Henry Berman - Academy Award for "Gunga Din," and "Grand Prix," Ralph E. Winters - Academy Awards with Blake Edwards, Evan Lottman - Academy Award for "The Exorcist," Michael Kahn - Academy Awards for Steven Spielberg's films, including "Close Encounters," a film that I was offered to be the First Assistant Editor by Kahn.

Irish282. Deputy Dawg, you are a film buff extraordinaire! I really want to enter into the dimensionality of the mirrors at a later stage of my development and career as a Director and Actor. This gives me a foretaste of what I plan to do in the immediate future.

    "cat"

  • how interesting to see a film without sound :) it leaves much to the imagination. again...what an unusually beautiful, and startling film. i can only imagine what these characters are thinking. it's funny..i immediately related to the girl with the flower. i saw myself in her somehow. what's the story behind this Cat?

  • 11.22.06

Adrienne. This is the lady that I want you to do the voiceover narration for. She dreams that she would like to be a part of this strange tryst, interlude with Aye Stalkeen and the Lady in Black. She is naive, too young to venture further. She hears voices from the skies, the heavens above that weigh on her soul and spirit. Yournarration follows probably by this weekend the 25th or 26th of November 2006. A woman who wonders about her place in the world.

Adrienne. I put the CD of Gustav Mahler's 10th Symphony vs. the visuals of "NOBEL ASSISTANT." I was astounded by how much richer and majestic the entire show became with the addition of this classical music. THANK YOU, MY FRIEND. This is the young lady whose voice you will become. I am more than pleased and quite happy that you said, "YES!"

    "cat"

  • Very cool! Keep up the good work my friend.

  • 11.22.06

TheReceptionist. Thank you, sir. I try not to get typecast with anything that I do. Luckily for me, I am still calling the shots and making the small films that I want to make. Much as you, yourself are doing.

    "cat"

  • Just like with your other videos, I have no idea what to say and veni vidi vici doesn't justify it ;). I just want you to know that I was here and I watched your video in awe, "cat".

  • LadySeneca,

My Very First Google YouTube Subscriber, I would give my eyetooth to have you view my films. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. Just to get these words from you is more than enough to fill my plate.

    "cat"

  • In the future, I will give you a brief synopsis prior to running them. LadySeneca. I plan to upload a few beginning on Nov. 18 or 19 - 21st, 2006. I might be able to post "She SHOWERS." That one I am curious about your response. I could only watch. :)

    "cat"

  • 11.22.06

LadySeneca. It would be nice to do a periodic vblog perhaps once or twice a month. In this way, I could lay a bit of the groundwork for what you will see, or what the stories upcoming are basically about and what I hope to achieve with them. I know it is unfair to saddle the audience with so many unknown factors. They are used to being serviced and catered to in every way. With these at this time, I do not do that at all.

    "cat"

  • I like it beeing so experimental! The mirrors really give a cool effect (in many ways)! really cool concept!

  • Thank you Eemma. As a fellow filmmaker from Sweden. I thought, at the minimal level, that the mirrors would suggest a different reality. They are a nice effect, especially since there is constant movement in the foreground. I plan to keep in touch with you forever. I want you to know that I thoroughly enjoyed ALL of your videos. I think that you are one of the most talented filmmakers in the world & I love the way that you edit.

    "cat"

  • 11.16.06

Eemma, yes it does. I wanted to do more with the 7 way concept so that the surroundings would not be visible. This will have to wait for a while. My Dad told me about how much depth was present in the mirrors. strangely, I had never looked at those much, rather the huge one where the Lady in Black looks back to see who is following her. I kinda wanted to give the sense of not knowing who was leading and who was following. ( just finished looking at Kate's pictures. ) wow.

    "cat"

  • 11.22.06

Eemma. All of my films at this stage are experimental, test run films. When I get proper production financing, I will go more in depth with some of the elements that I introduce here for the first time in my directorial career. There is something about mirrors that intrigues me.

    "cat"

Eemma. Thank you Eemma. Coming from you as a fantastic visualist and story teller from Sweden, I am honored that you think this way. ^^bows humbly and shyly to Eemma^^

Happy Thanksgiving, Eemma. I hope that you slept like a log. ;)

Eemma. I liked what you did with the make-up mirror with seeing close up views of your eyes, lips, nose and the funny things that you did with all of them. You are an excellent comedienne. I like your films, ALL OF THEM, A LOT!

  • 1948 - year I was born. Did not see "Lady" I did see "Enter Dragon." Bruce Lee is one of my all time favorites. My sister Christine has a Red & White belt in Judo, the highest ranked female judoist in the world. You can Google her. Christine Penick.

U R a film buff extraordinaire. btw I am in the internet movie database. Their information is splotchy with me. Ck. IMDB.

  • (1/3) As usual, I understand very little. A) The mirrors have a paradoxical effect: They multiply those people into eternity, but at the same time confine them to the frame of the glass. This is the transition from self-reflection to narcissism: First, you increase your self, then, you decrease your world. When they return into the confinement of that backyard, they are actually more free than they were within the infinity of the mirrors. B) I propose that Aye and Black Top are

  • (2/3) dramatizations of a single person. They represent different facets of the transition. Aye, who at first saw his inner self as a source of inspiration, becomes bored with his universality because universality is without direction (1:19). Black Top, who at first was afraid of the maniac inescapability of her self-reflection, grows indulgent of the attention she receives from herself (1:37). C) I propose that both take place inside the mind of Flower Girl. She vainly tries to

  • (3/3) integrate one facet with the other. She is bored with herself, but at the same time enjoys thinking about how bored she is with herself -- then she gets bored with thinking about how bored she is with herself, and so on, ad intinitum. She can't integrate her boredom with herself with her love of herself. Aye and Black Top are never seen in the same picture.

  • I like how you have broken down the apparent dichotomy. Please continue, NoPlaceToRest. I am listening.

    "cat"

  • NoPlaceToRest, continue. You cut off @ B) AYE deliberately diminishes his world to the GYT community until 2009. I agree about the freedom of the backyard. However, I do not agree about the narcissistic element. I use mirrors often. See "29 Pickup." The main guy moves from elaborate mirror to simple mirror on door. Shows dual personality or multiple that get into memories of past. Did not flaunt in front of elaborate fish-shaped mirror or in front of 7 way mirrors. Comment?

  • Silent sounds with hidden words expressing thoughts,

There are feelings of those that long to be heard.

Just as loud as it was meant to just be seen,

It's more clear now knowing our own reflection's blur.

A beautiful piece of art proudly stated from the eyes of this beholder,...

  • I love your poetry, FreeWingz. You are and will always be more than welcome to add them to my films whenever and if your are available.

Thank you for helping to memorialize this Day & this special film 11/2/06

    "cat"

  • Ah, FreeWingz! Like birds of a dove coming gently to light, your spirit flies close to my heart. Like daffodils in the wings of Spring, I take from your words and create within.

  • Art, mirrors, and fine looking ladies. Rock on.

  • Mr Pitiful of the band. Now you see some of the films that are crying out for some outrageous music in some cases, lyrical in others and jamming in the others. We must try for originality in all that we do, my new found friend.

    "cat"

  • It is said that the "cat" has 9 lives. You can rest assured, mrpitifulband, that this is only the 2nd of my allotment. 7 more years lie ahead, just beyond the horizons that I have set, a bright new world is seen at last.

    "cat" 11/3/06 Hollywood 11:04 AM.

  • That's a bit different. Mirrors set up that way have a way of confusing things, thus adding intrigue.

  • Circular

  • 11/2/06 7:30 AM. I returned from the apple store. I want to get into multiple dimensions at some point in my illustrious and humble career. I also primed myself to play a rather unsavory character who is a bit comical but serious, nonetheless. I achieved what I sought in this. Now, I know that I can do the others that follow without too much sweat.

    "cat"

  • Me brother Doug installed these mirrors, these reflections into eternity, peering deeply into centuries past, moving us forward gently into the new years past and edging us ever forward into the feats and feasts of legends past.

    "cat"

  • Thematically, if U examine my posts, I do a lot with mirrors. Note that the environment changes with each mirror chosen. I feel that I want to delve into duality, alter egos, that sort of thing. It does add intrigue. I will more fully explain the longer I know you, CircaRigel. Good observation. Once a mirror breaks at bathroom door, the pieces mean something to the guy who picks up a sliver of glass. Later for the explanation & development of that story, though.

    "cat"

  • I stand before a funhouse mirror and see in crystalline depth

Myself receding endlessly. But I am never kept

Within refractive worlds apart from what I know to be.

'tis only image, not myself, in lurking symmetry.

  • It is not truth that wakes behind the simple silvered glass.

I know this, for but moments past stood here a dark-haired lass,

Who paused to gaze into the false reflections of her face,

Then wandered on, and left the mirror a stark and empty place.

  • I cannot hold the image that once lived within the pane.

Though with all my heart I'd like to, it is not her true domain.

  • I've not only come to apreciate the beauty of your video artwork, but also to apreciate the beauty of others that come from it. Thank you for this video and everything that has and can be shared from it;)

    ~FWz~

  • I learn more from the comments that accompany these offerings than I realized existed in the films themselves. Thank you for your discerning eye. I agree with your sentiments in entirety.

    "cat"

  • FreeWingz, your simply stated sentiments are the same as mine succintly.

I thank you for participating in the continuing development of me and my people as we attempt to make inroads into the filmmaking world on a global basis in one fell swoop. I need these comments by you, FreeWingz so that I can better understand the scope of things to come.

    "cat"

  • I feel the same way, FreeWingz. I have learned more than I can say, felt deeply emotions, thoughts and a myriad of feelings from the comments that accompany these images and others on GYT than I ever learned in the film business in the entire 15 years that I was a member in good standing in the Editor's Guild in Hollywood.

"cat" P.S. the following comment is for you, FreeWingz. Thank you.

  • Nor should I try to capture the spirit that resides there, that lives forever in my memory. No, I should watch as it glides away into the deepest creases of my memory.

    "cat"

  • Ah, Urgelt. Ah, Urgelt. Words have left me and emotion has taken its place.

    "cat"

  • Urgelt,

I have said it before on "Lady" I will say it again on "AYE STALKEEN." You are a HEAVYWEIGHT as a person, poet, producer, filmmaker and friend. The world is yours. I do not need to watch images. I need to hear you speak. Your poetry is what this film lacks. Add it!

    "cat"

  • Beautiful images you evoke in me, Urgelt. I really am thankful that I met you a few months ago. I said at the time that you were the Senior Statesman, Diplomat of the Google YouTube. I believe this, still. You are one person whose opinions and comments bring me new and deeper understandings of my own creative work. Thank you, my friend.

    Thomas

  • May I use these gems & pearls in this film, Urgelt. They have so much gravitas that I humbly would bend on crooked knee, doff my hats and kneel to thee if I could use but one stanza of this Ode to Me. he. he.

    "cat"

  • Heh, who could turn down a request like that one? Of course you may. :P

  • Urgelt, I listen to your poetry and I am not only compelled to listen, I am urged on, like a lemming following the Pied Piper of Hamelin to join in, add my small voice to yours and create anew.

    "cat"

  • Interesting usage of the mirrors. I especially liked it about 3/4 of the way through-the difficulty in deciphering who was coming/going. Nice.

  • This was my first try at using FCP 4 with 4 distinct pieces of film. I will heavily intercut the two actors in front of the 7 way mirrors in a comical fashion with voice over narration. It is a zoo lie atmosphere that will be created with jungle sounds mixed with the voice of a woman who has experienced a Revelation of sorts. It should be unusual.

    "cat"

  • Thematically, that is a recurrent feature of my films, in that some people come, while others exit. Perhaps it is a microcasm of my own life creeping in here. I do not know but I have noticed this. Actually, they all re-appear again later with heightened realizations from experiences that they have undergone, including me.

    "cat"

  • Thanks MurrWes, I have a tendency to run through many women who I think mean something more than they do. Perhaps, subconsciously, I am summoning memories of past relationships that were vacuous and time consuming and thus not as worthwhile as they might have been. I am more careful now about friendships, especially with women. Vulnerable. Still, I am mos 'def approachable

    "cat"

  • An interesting concept; looking forward to your narration!

  • Around January if not before then, I will have the narration laid in for all of the films If I am lucky, it will be before then; however, knowing me, January will be the month. Probably January 1st, 2007.

    "cat"

  • Hi MotherReiver, I know that I ask a lot of my viewing audience. I learn a great deal from the comments that are posed. Different responses cause me to re-consider certain elements and add others to make for a richer, more unique experience when I re-issue these with the elements intact.

    "cat"

  • MotherReiver, these comments have proven to be of inestimable value in creating that special world of the imagination that will populate these 3 people and make them live on in memory.

    "cat"

  • I'm ready! Let's GO!

  • Experimental film using 3 actors, silent, no music.

Experiment with multi-dimensional mirrors that carry depth in 7 levels.

Music will be added later as well as sound effects and a bit of narration.
