That is a very strange clock! I think it is trying to show other things than just the time, such as the date, alarm setting, sleep timer, etc. -- quite confusing to figure out if you don't have the manual.
I have actually seen a few of those, I haven't seen one like that in years, do you know if any of them are still available today? Are any available in single bed size?
Look at the size of that capacitor behind the clock, it's big, but then that was the case back then, they needed to be big, of course everything is a lot smaller now. I believe quite a lot of General Electric clock radios were made in Singapore.
Elton John - Song For Guy. A top song of the 70's. Absolute wonderful!

What IC is on the clock board ?
If the clock really doesn't work, you could place a nice little rds-decoder like
the mictronics-project instead of it :-)

In the 1970s you could purchase beds with clock radios embedded on the tall side of the box! The available matress sizes extended up to king size!

I am unsure. They could be no longer sold, and they fell out of the fashion in this decade. However, the parents of my father still sleep in one!

It appears to alternate between date and time.

Nice find. Btw have you still got your downsized radio receiver in your workshop as a signal source? Thanks.
