I have heard that the domestic animals can not really see the visuals of the video as we humans do, they only see a flat plane (no 3D). I think that the communication of cats and dogs is heavily context-sensitive, meaning that an individual "meow" does not mean much, but "meow me-meow" in a competitive/playful setting can might have a clear meaning.

But I digress. I like how the kitten places the paw on the shoulder, a common sign of domination. It's funny because it's just a kitten. :D

@fingrid As far as I'm aware, the issue is with interlacing on television screens that prevents them from seeing clearly. Most animals, cats and dogs alike do show different behaviour when shown different images on Tv.

I know dogs react very well to projector screens, sometimes getting overly hysterical about it :P

@hildegain I dont know about cats but apparently dogs can see digital moving images very well, whereas with analogue they only pick up an image every few seconds. When my GSP hears the intro for (yes youve guessed it) Dog Whisperer from anywhere in the house hell come running into the TV room and sit transfixed for 30 minutes. When the exit music is over hell go off and find something else to do.

@chanctonbury63 Yeah I've seen a lot of behaviour like that in animals, the main problem with imagery seems to be with their inability to view interlaced sources properly (probably what you called analogue), as long as they have a progressive picture, most animals show good reactions to it :)
