Sims 2 Modded First Person Camera

Okay, I use this mod for my camera and it makes really nice pans and such AS LONG AS I don't press q, e, or any directional buttons.

If I do, the camera moves SUPER FAST that direction, and won't stop until it reaches the end of the map.

Is there a way to fix this? What numbers [in the camera folder] affect speed of movement when you press q, e, or directional buttons (while in tab)?

You could use the second modded camera that I created, it's not as harsh when you are trying to adjust your camera. Or you could try to set your shot as close as possible before hitting tab.

but anyway, I watched these 2 vids that show you what each number in the camera folder does, and just completely personally redid my camera folder and experimented w/it in-game until it was how I wanted.

my only problem now is that the movement from one saved camera angle to another is still normal speed -_-

Here, I just figutred it out myself. I'll show you how. Keep ALL of the text the same, except for the setparam maxvelocity"

It was set at 15.0 on mine, which is too high. The higher it is, the faster the camera will move when you are adjusting it "Camera Man Mode". Set it to a small number. (Mine is at 1.0).

Example:"setparam maxvelocity 1.0" (Without the quotation marks).

All you need to change is that. I can PM you the whole text document if you want it. :)

I've tried this but it still goes quite fast. I've tried slowmotion the sims down and it's still pretty fast :o. Slowed it down in WMM & Sony Vegas and it just looks laggy. Any help?

Did you place the file in your My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/ Cameras folder?

Yeah I did, it asked me to replace the files so I did. Don't get me wrong, it's slower than it was, but it's still quite fast. I've tried slowmotion 4 etc and it seems to just lag after that :-/

Slowmotion does not slow down the recording. To my knowledge, it just slows down your Sims game speed. Once you use the camera, are you accessing cameraman mode by pressing tab?

Yeah, I press tab and it's still pretty fast. It's not smooth like it is in this video, it's kinda...fast but laggy at the same time if you get me. My game runs fine though :-/

Pressing tab takes you into cameraman mode and the pressing of CTRL + 4-9, saves camera angles so that you keep the exact same angle when you need to do a continuous shot or repeat the shot.

I tried the camera, but it rotates really quickly before moving off in a slow, straight line. Is there a way to slow down the rotation of the camera so as to get a nice, smooth pan?

Ok one more question please. I got the camera and I LOVE the movement. Absolutely love it. However, I am have a whale of a problem getting in position! Whenever I press A, D, Q or W the camera flies way off. I can set up a shot outside of TAB mode but am unable to use Q and E outside of TAB mode. Hope I'm making sense here. Help please?

I have Gunmod's camera. Does this override it? Also these movements from set camera positions? I mean are you pressing TAB 8, then 6 etc?

It does override it, but you can always replace mine with Gunmod's. By camera positions, I mean pressing tab to enter cameraman mode, hold ctrl + (4-9) to set the camera and then pressing those keys to move the camera to your presets

Guys, you're it only works when you use the 4 - 9 thingys. Set your postitions first.

What I really want is a first person view with WASD controls where I can crouch too which allows me to "beam" down in to the world as a sims charachter I've designed and control them like an FPS charachter. It would be nice if they added that to sims3, it would be really cool to go in to some of the worlds I've created

Download the text file. Install the text file in your mydocuments/eagames/thesims2/c­ameras folder. To set your shots, place your camera at the first position, hit tab and press ctrl plus the number key from the top of the keyboard, (4-9) the number keypad will not work. Go to your second position and repeat using another number to set the position.

When you're ready to film it, hit tab and press your first number, to move to the next position, hit the next number to the shot you set.

Did you hit tab, go to one spot press alt+4(you can use 4-9), then go to another spot then press alt+5? If not do so then press each one back and forth.

I did, it's not hard, you can play with the settings while your game is on, just make sure you have a back up

Amazing. I truely thought that my computer was slowing down GunMod's hack. But I see that you had the same problem I did, it snaps straight to the next position. No transitions.

you need to apply settings when you are on the game.

click f5 in your family, then click the camera icon next to save game, neighbourhood and exit. there are a couple of options. click on these::

video quality: high, (NOT high, uncompressed)

& video size; large.

that should do you!! if you need any more help just ask me =) x

What it means is when you set up your camera in cameraman mode by pressing tab, you set positions by holding down the ctrl and pressing a numbered key between and 4 and 9 at the top of the keyboard (not the keypad)

That will set your camera so that when you are in cameraman mode, all you have to do is press the number you used to set the camera. Your camera will automatically go to the exact spot you set.
