DFS 904 was an interesting station during the Cold War. But was it really a spy station or not?
The station was an initiative of the East German KPD, the Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands (German Communist Party) and started on 17-8-1956 on 904 kHz. It ceased operations on 30 September 1971. The KPD wanted to broadcast political information, comments and reports of the KPD and propaganda programs for the Bundeswehr.
@grant2053 DFS stated that it transmitted from a cellar, somewhere in the Bundesrepublik, persecuted by the State Security Forces and the police. They also stated that DFS was the only station in the Federal Republic that was not under government control. To emphasize that the station was illegally transmitting from a cellar, they even added some noise and a hum to the signal.
In order to sound like a western station DFS 904's programs consisted of conversations and Western hit records like the ones that Radio Luxemburg transmitted. The music that DFS played was prohibited in the DDR. The announcers spoke with a West German accent.
Between the records there were announcements for alleged agents or underground groups of the KPD in West Germany
"Hier ist der Deutsche Freiheitssender 904. Achtung! Wir rufen den Postschaffner. Das dritte Wort im Telegramm ist die Lösung. Ich wiederhole. Wir rufen den Postschaffner. Das dritte Wort im Telegramm ist die Lösung. Ende der Durchsage."
(This is the German Freedom Station 904. Attention! We call the Post conductor. The third word of the telegram is the solution. I repeat: We call the Post conductor. The third word of the telegram is the solution. End of announcement.)

I've seen another video recording of this one, it seems to be a fake numbers station transmitted by pirates.

These transmissions were made by the "Deutscher Freiheitssender 904" and the "Deutscher Soldatensender 935" in the middle years of the cold war.
Seems to be recorded and played in a loop.
Those transmissions were definitely fake.
Both Sender haven't been active since the seventies.
Someones having fun out there.
