What a sickening sound. Our Amber Alert system does not use that tone. They instead use the EAS tone similar to how a Tornado Warning. I wish our state used this tone because I believe it gets your attention and it just makes you want to look everywhere you can for the missing person.

yep, i saw a vid of CP24 covering a Amber Alert on Youtube, i found it while searching for new vids related to the Amber Alert on here weeks ago. anyway this sound was first heard here in North Texas where i live, the Amber Alert was created in North TX after Amber Hagerman was kidnapped and later killed in Arlington, a city near Fort Worth.

An Amber Alert is a emergency code used for trying to locate either missing/kiddnapped/etc children the criteria for one is as followed...
Law enforcement must confirm that an abduction has taken place
The child must be at risk of serious injury or death
There must be sufficient descriptive information of child, captor, or captor's vehicle to issue an alert
The child must be 17 years old or younger
