The disaster at the union hall should be a song. I still have a huge scar on my chin from that night, but the story got really cinematic after us. Would love to hear whatever you have Ron even if it is embarassing.
(cont) 89th Congress was a "social" group of friends a year younger than me, mostly. I joined the band in Dec 69. 1st recording at Spar was in Feb 70 w/ Travis Turk engineer. The 89th C band had played several times (including the disaster at the Union Hall) previous to me joining. Pat was 14, I was 17 (oldest), Mike St L was 15, and Ralph, Kirk, and Johnny were 16 (Harry was 18 and really not a part of the band - never played live with us) There was a whole 60s social scene thats worth telling
Hi Pat, Johnny - I can copy these comments to Kirk and Mike - who's memory probably is better. I did talk with Harry Stinson a few years ago. Harry played on Son of Psil. We did several other tracks that session n don't know if Harry or y'all drummed. You did on the 1st 2 sessions including the single Easy Rider b/w Thunderstone which made it to acetate, but no vinyl. Liza Niesweinder? - not Eve- sang on a track (Rosedale) I do have copies of all excpt the single of EZ Rider (cont)
@dukevoice1 .....and Ron Williams. Eve sang with the group, but not on this recording. If you look closely at the video the players are listed, and though most of us, going to Hillsboro High School, were good friends of Harry Stinson's and loved his drumming, he wasn't in the band.
Alright Ron!
