This is !"#¤%&/() ridiculous. I've tried this hunt TEN TIMES now, with one of the following outcomes every single time:

1. The first tent works but then stealing the Needle Fork takes more than five attempts.

2. The second tent works but Zaghnol's next attack kills Zidane anyway.

3. Neither of the first two tents thrown work.

The guide says that 2:30 is the target finishing time, you managed it in 2:00, I can't even manage it in 1:30 -_-

The guide is giving you a goal to shoot for. If you have some time to spare, don't feel the need to kill yourself to get those times. Take it from somebody who has done this challenge twice.

Thanks for the advice. I've calmed down now... I got through after about thirteen attempts with about 2:10 left on the clock in the end. I was just annoyed because I had to waste so much time on something that is almost completely reliant on luck.

You still get the Master Hunter if Freya wins. It's actually impossible NOT to get the Master Hunter :P

isn´t it better to get 10 000 gil as zidane rather than obtaining the coral ring? Lancet isn´t that great, and the coral ring is cheaper..

You only get 5000 Gil, not 10,000 :P And the Coral Ring is better for my purposes because of teaching Insomniac and absorbing thunder.

It's a lot simpler than my strat - I didn't think to use a Tent (lol) so instead I took the extra time to fill Zidane's trance gauge. One Shift Break does 1500, then Zidane gets killed by Zaghnol, then Freya kills with Jump. I was LLGing though, so I changed to just stalling for time =P
