  • the avro arrow (canadian jet) was the first ever to do this 40 years ago. so that makes this pretty much obsolete.

  • If I ever win the lottery, this is one of the first things on my list. Looks like a fantastic experience!

  • See how better a woman does with a similar experience-ie in the back seat-on a clip I refer to-supra!. At least she doesn't shake her head in disbelief /wonder...or clap like a trained seal afterwards.

  • @liebewitz1 do you realise how long it takes to train as a seal? :-p

  • 2:35 OOR OOR IM A SEAL xD haha that vid was awesome man thanks :)

  • oh my god!!! I would die to be in your place, awesome experiance...conguratulations.....

  • Pimp my plane

  • Was it worth the $40,000 they charged you, or did you get the discount ride?

  • @AdministrativeDept IT WAS WORTH IT :-)

  • He adjusts his helmet on take-off roll with no hands on the stick knowing it will be ineffective until a certain airspeed. I know there are exceptions . This pilot was very pro.

  • dayumm he got to space with a mig 29 sick

  • great plane

  • did you controlled the fucking plane dude???

  • @fall0rn Yes. I got to fly it for about 10 mins and flew it back to the base. It was an amazingly powerful aircraft and very responsive.

  • @russellmarsh do u need a pilot license to controll it, or can u just take it over if u want?? fly with it across the other kill some arabs or something

  • fantastic

  • What did it cost you?

  • He is Ömer from Ezel, turkish tv-series. :)

  • Awesome experience!

How did you arrange for the flight on the Mig-29?

  • @skazhiprivet - it was really cool and if you want to try something that you will never forget than thats the one. A company in Moscow sorted it out for me. If you do a search for bestrussiantour you will find their website. I would absolutly recomend them they sorted the whole thing out and looked after me very well.

  • @russellmarsh - Thanks a lot for your reply and the info! I´ll definitely look into that.

  • @russellmarsh How much was it?

  • This plane looks like an SU-30 MK... odd

  • 1:41

Pilot - Alright...time to go back (dives with the plane)

    You - OH SH-!!!!

  • @SpecialOperations - Thats pretty much what happened

  • @russellmarsh I wanted so much to say that! In a plane! :'( This is my dream!

  • Man.......I will do it within next few years?. reading these comments make me want to go tomorrow! Very coooooool

  • It is so .... WOOONDERFUUUUL!!!!!!!!!

  • how much did this cost you to do?

  • the Stratosphere is not the space that is 2 atomosvers from space..

  • 70,000 feet is nothing compared to the official altitude of space at 350,000 feet.

In order to stay at that altitude you would need a hell of a lot of thrust to catch enough air for lift and engine combustion.

Any higher than 70k and you would require full body pressure suit, it isn't the lack of oxygen that would kill you (presuming your mask is still attached during ejection/canapy failure) but the lack of air pressure which would momentarily boil your blood/liquid and force your mask off.

  • @EinkOLED Lol say what you want, I still think you are jealous though :D

  • Comment removed

  • Of course I am, but this guy would be more jealous of those flying the virgin galactic at 350,000 feet who automatically gain astronaut recognition.

70,000 is easily achievable for some fighter jets and the lockheed U2, but 350,000 is almost 5 times that altitude.

  • It took me about 4 months to organise but you could do it much faster than that.

If you go to my blog I have posted everything that I did along with the companies I used. If you search for gototheedge.wordpress you will find it.

  • how much & how long does it take to get into the cockpit...i mean starting from booking..a little training maybe?

  • Wow, 70,000 feet! I did notice that there were no pressure suits worn. Wonder what would have happened (to their bodies) if they experienced a rapid decompression? I would say: BAAAA-BOOOOM!!! And all of their internal body parts would be external body parts.

  • nice vid!

  • I did fly the Mig for about 10 mins but I had a Russian test pilot with me. No idea about how long you need to train for this but the pilot I had with me could fly pretty much anything and was an amazing guy. During my flight I blacked out few times because of the G force we were pulling, the pilto with me was steady as a rock!

  • would you say this was a life changing thing for you? how long were you "at the edge of space?)

  • @assman12354 Life Changing would probably be a bit too grand, but it was pretty much the most amazing thing I have ever done in my life and was very special. It did give me a whole new perspective on how small we all really are and how beautiful and special the place we live really is. It takes a lot of fuel to get that high as the air is so thin so you are using afterburners all the way. We were up there no more than about ten mins.

  • @russellmarsh How much it cost to do it and where can you do it?

  • @russellmarsh

If accepted on Strizsi team - it takes 3 years of flying in formation to go solo... Few military chaps qualify to begin with, very stressful to maintain formation 1m in between and 3m apart...

  • Eh man nice vid. I have a couple of questions though. Are you flying in this vid? And how much years do you need to be a military pilot in Russia? And what education you need and how much it costs? I thanks you very much for this vid. I am Russian but can't write good.

  • The whole flight was about an hour from take off to touch down. About 40 mins of that was flying up and coming down and the rest of the time doing aerobatics. Used about 3000 litres of fuel, reached mac 2 and altitude was about 70k feet (13 miles up).

  • does the earth look like a globe from that altitude? how long were you "really high" did you want to do the acrobatics? i love doing them but i was woundering if the acrobatic part might take away from the edge of space part?

  • how long was the ride

  • wht was the altitude

  • Awesome Jet FULCRUM RULZZZZZZZZZZ

  • very nice

  • Lucky man...

  • Hi russelmarsh, I'm doing this next month with the Mig29, any advice or it is just a great flight to the edge of space? thanks!!! Bruno

  • Great vid lucky man ..... i'm jealous ..... ;-)

If i had enough this would be on top of the list and driving a F1 car close second place.

  • @cbrdrivert - thanks and it was amazing! Made me feel very small and humble to realise how tiny we all are in the world.

  • that oxygen mask is strange compared to ours, its like plastic

  • @trechan - it was made of some sot of rubberised plastic and was a pain to clip in and out of the helmet.

  • thanks for the information

  • are u driving the plane?

  • im fuckin doin that one day

  • For quite some time the fighter jet tours in Russia were flown from Zhukovsky AF base (Moscow), however its been more than two years since such operations there were stopped. Our company organized and starting from 2006 has successfully been performing official flights in the MiG-29 and the MiG-31 (analogue of the MiG-25) jet fighters in the city of Nizhny Novgorod (450 km from Moscow) at the facility of Nizhny Novgorod Aviation Plant Sokol. Agency COUNTRY OF TOURISM

  • 1 flight on mig-31 costs 19000 Euros....

  • that was awesome i can see space in the mig 29

  • The Fulcrum is a great airplane. Wish we could see it fly on the airshow circuit in the 'States.

  • That was fantastic!!!!!!!
