I believe this show was hosted by a guy named Gene Brendler. In around 1960 we went to a new shopping center grand opening and Hi-Time was doing a live show there. I had to dance with my sister. Horrors! LOL
I t would be nice if unedited versions(including all of the classic 50's commercials) of all the American Bandstand shows as well as High Time from 1957 through 1960, were put on DVD's. American Bandstand was a full 90 minutes long, and was cut to 60 munutes in 1961, when ABC took 30 minutes of that time slot to air their news journal, then in 1963 it was cut down to just once a week on Saturdays and then moved to the west coast and remained that way for the duration.
This is a great clip. Watching real less known live stuff by Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran made my day. Ok, I've seen this one before but I almost forgot it. Great! Tnx posting it.
Thank you

I never realized how many big city TV stations had local teen dance shows!

The teenagers dress more like the every day teen ager of the day than they did on American Bandstand.

Looks like KPTV saved some of the show. Most of this stuff was thrown in the garbage in the 70's IDIOTS!
Sure, save the stupid film of blowing up the whale on the beach but throw away priceless stuff like films from the local Battle of the Bands!
Can you imagine? LIVE Sonic, Wailers, Raiders, etc! Jeeze
