  • "5 sided" ? lol... a pentagon ?

  • i had one like this 5 sided but mine was black. it was my frist guitar my dad got it for me for christmas and i gave it away. but if you have looked on ebay i should have saved it now i have many high dollar guitars but i wish i had one now

  • Typical teisco tone. Very twangy and sounds like it has rubber bands for strings. Not hatin... I love em! Got to love the unique guitars!

  • Ian Curtis guitar!

  • i have the ep-2t

  • What a waste; some guy just keeps them locked in their cases and doesn't play them.

  • after watching this you know why the stratocaster sold millions

  • @666zombiebabe stratocasters suck

  • @Brozotheclown lol strat's suck xD... good one

  • @daanvdberg444 they're fucking boring as shit

  • this guitar is hideous and the dude in the vid cant play guitar for shit

  • Almost three minutes of aimless chatter before playing the thing. I have olde Teiscos, I like the bright sound, and sure wouldn't take so long to let ye hear 'em. Coming this fall, videos featuring them, live.

  • Nice to see what Fred Durst is up to these days.

  • Do you get he impression he thinks aspects of it are cool?

  • if you have a boat or a kayak...this might be your guitar :P

  • Thats a electric banjo

  • Ugly guitar.. And let's face it... It sounds ugly too!

  • Looks like a VOX phantom

  • hahahah how old is this guy and he still wears a backwards baseball cap? grow the fuck up guy. what a fucking douche.

  • @GotThe89Vision And you don't pay attention to the music! Whats have to see the clothes that he wear with the music? His helping us the learn how to play guitar, this is not fashion show

  • @GotThe89Vision Yeah, that's definitely what's most important about this video. In no way are you missing the point.

  • My first electric guitar was a Teisco Del Ray Strat shape, a '65 I think. I got it new for Christmas. It actually sounded really good. Sure wish I had it back.

  • hellstick(=

  • yay he has used a different amp to all the others

    thumbs up if you agree

  • they should get another guitarist, make the shitty guitar sound good and u will sell it

  • love it!

  • that guys collection is shit... all of em are pretty shite

  • Strings sound flat but what you expect from an old guitar

  • @TheASEmaster probly old strings

  • its not cool,its ugly.xD

  • That's the way you are supossed to sit with a guitar? What do you mean is uncofortablthe V's are the most confortable guitar y played with because it's so easy to sit with them. Except that when plugged in the guitar cable gets in the way. But nowadays the jack is in the upper part of the V. Also the B.C Rich Warlock is very easy to seat down with it...but the jack is in the lower part of the guitar.

  • i have one of these unused still in its original shipping box from 1969 with its amp, when i plugged it in the pickups are so microphonic that if you sing close to the pickups the sound comes through the amp.

  • i have one of these unused, still in the original box that it was shipped in,

  • Interesting looking guitar but not my type.

  • It looks like a giant sperm

  • Did anyone use these? the Teisco's?

  • This guitar has a woody hollowbody sound..I like it !

  • i love playing V guitars sitting down, dont know what all the fuss is about

  • I don't like weird shaped guitars like flying vees or stuff like that teisco---I like traditional shapes like strats, teles, hollowbodies---

  • @micmoable The flying V IS a traditional guitar, its been around since 1957. Its one of the classics, just like the Les Paul, the Strat, and the Tele

  • @birdmankustomz666 and the gibson stobeingstuckup 12 limited edition.

  • Joy Division-Love will tear us apart Ian Curtis

  • this sounds like the perfect jangle-pop and reggae guitar

  • tiesco = poop.my first guitar was a tiesco, and i have no regrets about smashing it in the middle of the street

  • he says the flying v isnt comfortable sitting down on a stool its not bad but the jackson rr has to be the most comfortable v guitar ive played for sitting or standing

  • looks like its modeled after a toilet seat

  • Star Warscaster? Looks like Bo Diddley's first christmas guitar.

  • I have one JUST like this. I mean, it's got the Del-Rey emblem on the head instead of a Teisco emblem. It needs a helluva lot of work, though. It needs a new set of strings and it won't play through my amplifier so I'm betting it has an electrical problem inside. Another thing is that mine is dusty, which I can fix, but I really want to get it rockin' again.

  • what a douchebag

  • How much is it?

  • сука пиздят вечно больше чем играют

  • tuning is for squares

  • Do you actually rehearse at all? Do you listen to yourself? Why does EVERY FUCKING Next Level Guitar video suck so bad?

  • Do you think he gets payed for these videos?

  • @doublealufwaffe I can't even fathom. It's like he's guessing about every aspect of the guitar and did almost no research. He exudes no confidence in the knowledge he's trying to convey. He's okay at guitar, but doesn't really switch styles to suit the instrument.

I keep coming back because unfortunately these putzes get their hands on really nice instruments.

  • @sangandongo

If they suck so bad, what the fuck are you watching it for?

  • @2Fast4U0921 Because this douche bag has access to cool guitars. Unfortunately he more often than not ruins the experience with his lack of research and knowledge. Even worse is when he plays through a Line 6 amp.

    Sad.

  • @sangandongo

What's wrong with a Line 6? I have one and it works great! Besides that, he's not playing through a Spyder in this video. He's playing through a Fender Deluxe.

  • @2Fast4U0921 - You're exactly the audience he's looking for then. Enjoy.

  • @sangandongo

I will. He may not play the best or he may not know everything, but you can tell that the guy loves what he does.

  • @2Fast4U0921 - So did Hitler, but that doesn't make it right.

  • @sangandongo

Ha...ha... ha.... That's a really good comparison! Comparing this guy, who is making guitar videos, to one of the most powerful dictators in the world. I don't know where you got that from.

  • i love it!

  • teisco is now called "Ibanez".

  • These Teisco guitars are among the best deals on vintage instruments.

I just snagged a sunburst strat looking Teisco with a *mahogany* neck and thin mahogany body, two single coils...sweet as hell for on $130 with a case!40 year old mahogany sounds killer with single coils.

Also those old tremolos perform well too with a roller bridge(no permanent mods needed and cost 30 bucks). You can bend sharp and I like that.

With the short scale(typically) it's easy to bend notes too.

  • I have one of these - in black, with white scratchplate. Love it, may even sound better than some of the original Vox Phantoms (that may be blasphemy but I do have a Vox Spitfire MkVI, a MkXII, and more - so hey, I know a bit of what Vox can sound like...).

Thing is, you must give these guitars some time; play them, rock out, and they grow on you. Oh, and definitely change strings if you buy one of these :-)

  • Why don't they ever ever ever ever ever use the sound from the mic that's mic-ing the amp?! It drives me nuts.

  • at 1:58 it looks like the G B and the (thinnest) E string stop at the nut of the headstock

  • Is that a tremelo arm or a place to hang the toilet paper? Best sounding toilet I've ever heard.

  • Does anyone know if this is the brand the guitarist from Tokyo Jihen uses? I'm dying to know...

  • there is a similair guitar: the domino californian. it's the same kind of guitar. Vox also made a guitar like this

  • he probably used a vox phantom

  • Hey, That doesn't sound half bad. You should check out Vox's "Guitar Organ" Though, It is like what Teisco copied. There were two Vox models like this, One was the Guitar Organ and I can't remember the other one.

  • Was the other one called the Phantom?

  • Comment removed

  • Vox Phantom is the original

  • looks cool sounds like ass

  • Lol he said *Look at that shape*

I had to do a rewind to check though lol!

    Great guitar though,

    Beauty to have

    Greg.

  • did he say "look at that shit"?

  • a pleasure to see and hear - awesome tone

  • A friend of mine had one of those in blue, guitar was terrible, even after setting it up a dozen or so times thing would only stay in tune half a song or so. Saw one of Ebay for $750 and had to laugh, talk about buyer remorse waiting to happen.

  • The collector seems to have a lot of Teisco guitars.

  • sounds like my 60's Sakai. Brutal.

  • ugly guitar : /

  • I had a Teisco, played really good. Sound like a Strat but I htink a bit more treble. Very smooth and easy to play blues.

  • ian curtis guitar!

  • it looks like a toilet seat

  • best comment on this video-guaranteed!!

  • It's brown inside the toilet seat part too. Coincidence?

  • @Megatallica572

with a little bit of pizza

  • @Megatallica572 I lold like an idoit when i noticed it xd

  • @Megatallica572 i do recall shiting on something that looked alot like the body of that guitar

  • @ottozing I could live with it looking like a toilet seat if it didn't sound like one.

  • @yakiburger i know it sounds like rape

  • @Megatallica572 You look like a toilet seat

  • @CharlineChaos It actually looks like a toilet sit, with shitty watter. (literally water with shit)

  • I have the pleasure too own a Teisco EV-3T and it is great, I've changed the tunners (all of them) and I've hooked it up with Earnie Ball strings, this guitar gives you the biggest and greatest mojo if you play garage rock or surf riffs, I play it through a VOX AC30 amplifier and every time I play it I picture myself in a Pink Cadillac driving away from cops in a Tarantino movie

  • a fuzztones guitar...

  • well, actually the fuzztones use vox phantoms, but this was an alternative to that guitar, but the difference with today's japanese guitar is that they sounded as good as the original (the vox phantom), other famous teisco guitar was the tg64 that was an alternative to the jazzmaster very famous in garage and surf rock musicians of that era :D

  • lol I'd love to own it just for the *WTF is that??* factor...

Would never play this for more than a few mins though; looks very uncomfortable (and quite ugly tbh)..... - though it's ugliness is part of the awesomeness (if that makes sense????) xD

  • sounds very stratty in some places

  • But you have to imagine this, played in it's day, through a cheap 10w solid state amp of the day too... absolute rubbish!

  • Actually these old Teiscos (pronounced TeeSco, not TISco) saw many a standing ovation in their day. My and my high school buds played Teiscos (various) through old Fender tube amps into 6 Twelves and the "Good People" absolutely loved it. There is a '68 Teisco Checkmate 100 watt tube amp from this era that is highly sought after. Remember that during the 60s, Japan produced the absolute highest quality electronics and optical IN THE WORLD. Just something to think about before you disregard it

  • You said it yourself! You played through old * Fender Tube Amps *!!

I have a Teisco amp I had it new in 1972 and an Avon SG and it was an experience that no youngster will have to endure today when starting out. The only way it was half usable was with a cheap distortion pedal - think 'White noise'... I saw more than my fair share of these 'cheap' offerings in UK and actually, by today's standards, they weren't that cheap either! £50 in 1972 was quite a bit of pocket and birthday money

  • probably made in a sweat shop lol

  • i'd like to find an amazing guitar like this one

  • imo flying v's are almost as comfortable as an acoustic sitting down.

  • If Quentin Tarantino played guitar this would be his guitar...nice.

  • sounds like the truss rod is pretty tight, always wondered what these sounded like, very unique, way cool. I bet a smaller bigsby would look great for someone making a copy. should have played the 3 pickup one lol

  • i have a sea green/blue '67 teisco. it looks exactly like this vox copy - but mine is called a californian domino. i use mine at live gigs all the time in southern california and get compliments on the way it looks AND sounds. you just need to know how to dial in the sound with your half stack cab and processor. you have to give these old axes some leeway. they were cheaper knockoffs of the day. these guitars are very cool. dont listen to the haters.

  • on every single teisco he says the same things, "it's got a really kinda bright sound" "i don't wanna damage it or knock it out of tune..."

  • i wish companies would make a lot of different models, like this, most guitars are copies of strats and les paul

  • haha it looks like a guitar

  • in case this hasn't been cleared up it is a copy of a vox phantom.

  • I think I know better pieces for lower price. :)

  • that is the most piece of shit guitar ive ever seen

  • lol

    i heavily agree

  • Ian Curtis played a Vox Guitar-Organ.

  • Tesco not Tiesco

  • BRIAN JONES PLAYED VOX

  • is that the same model that ian curtis plays on the love will tear us appart video?? it looks a lot like this.

  • No. Thats a Vox guitar. I'm not sure of the model.

  • Cool :)

  • I love the tone, it's a great sound.

  • does anybody want a wish you were here DVD?

  • we are good people!

  • love that neck sound, fat sexy blues.

  • The perfect garage rock guitar. It's so freakin' cool. Anton Newcombe from the Brian Jonestown Massacre plays on a Vox Phantom.

  • BJM for life!!!

  • Yeah man!

  • Nice sound... almost like a Spanish guitar sometimes.. and I love those vintage knobs... just like an old tape recorder

  • It looks like a Fred Flintstone guitar

  • This was Eddie's first guitar if im not mistaken.

  • I found a teisco bass that I now own. Its a EB-110N model. Its very short Scale, Del Ray bass guitar. The pickguard is black with a floral bandanna style pattern on it. The guitar itself has a green finish... Its very beautiful.

It also has a sort of rest that You can place your fingers on, I suppose so you could play with your thumb. It is one of the most common basses Teisco made, but Its very beautiful and serves as a great collectors guitar. It was made in 69, aswell.

  • I agree with you!

  • this looks like it belongs to rudi protrudi...

  • did u hear him wisper

  • LOL

    don't know don't care !!!!

  • looks kinda like an oversized fly swatter and sounds bit like a fender!

    I want one:)

  • great! more power to you..

  • Looks like he has a Brian Jones teardrop guitar next to him, on the floor. Love to hear it.

  • The one on the floor has the exact same headstock as the one he's holding.. plus Brian jones was a VOX.

    :)

  • that I knew :) (that he played a vox) I've wanted to find one since I saw a music video & it showed Brian playing one. I'm a lefty so it makes it harder to find :)

  • I bet Lefty versions are way harder to find!

  • teisco didn't made much lefties

  • sweet slide guitar

  • weird guitar

  • Oh my God... O_o

  • Man those guitars are insane!!!^_^

  • wht a fuckin' ugly guitar!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its pronounced "Fugly"

  • his name is david towel? TOWEL? lolol

  • lol its Taub, i thought it was towel for along time until i e-mailed him

  • no its not. Listen to the vid.

  • David Taub. TAUB :))

  • this collector certainly has a lot of teiscos...maybe he's asian...XD

  • it looks like a toilet seat. but it has a pretty good tone, i guess...

  • dang i wish i knew this guitar collector guy

  • DT for president!

  • He'd Definatly Get My Vote, Keep Rocking Dave, Your Awesome

  • Live from LV :P

  • i think daves at estabans house. whens the duel

  • this guy has a killer collection , awesome

  • jesus how many guitars does this private collector have

  • Yeah, it seems like this guy could supply all of us with cool guitars. :D :D

  • haha the designer has some strange ideas for body work.. i dont know if its lack of imagination or just too much imagination.. at least theres some ok bass tones for a guitar. looks like it was a challenge to play it though lol. not very easy on the fingers i see

  • nvm commented at the beggining of the video

  • is that another one there on the bottom right corner..:P

  • 7th!

  • that body is really ugly and unwieldly

  • you know it is

  • great shape

  • sweet

  • pretty sweet guitar

  • wow!

  • Amazing guitar and tone
