  • A very simplified explanation, but I hope you'ld understand. As one lifts the stepping foot, all weight is stressed on the axis foot. Notice the bent knee of the axis leg and stepping is simultaneous. The step starts when the body is at the lowest possible position that the axis can handle for max force. Keeping the axis leg, abdomen and back stiff at the moment of swing, the Achilles' tendon releases all of the built up momentum into the forward leap thus aiding for a quick swing/thrust
