I grew up with an alcoholic father who would sober up for a few months whenever my mom threatened to kick him out. Despite all of my parents promises, he would always relapse and go into his drunken rages again. As such, I completely understand the sentiment of this song. I would think the exact same thing whenever I would find any of his beer bottles hidden in the back of the fridge, underneath the couch, or stuffed in with some of my toys.
