I grew up in this area. One of the great pains of my life is seeing the river mistreated by people today. It's not what it used to be.

My Uncle and I canoed a stretch of this river a few times back in the 90's. Don't remember exactly where we started but we landed somewhere around Romney WV. Great trip. Highly recommended.
