I've had mine since Jan 2010, after about 10 months I could start to very faintly hear the bearings ticking over. It's not an issue though as a I have my case a Coolermaster Scout on it's side under my desk. It's a great PSU however and it's never failed on my I7 920 OC to 3.63 Ghz(4 internal Hard drives, 1 DVDRW, Palit 1 Gig GTS 250) I have the Blue LED version of this PSU. Well worth the money of £90 I got it for from SCAN.
Is the fan intake or exhaust? My case is Antec 300, should I mount this PSU fan facing down or up? Right now mine is facing up, I found the sata cables' connector is upside down when connecting to my HDD, there is no way I can twist the cable beside adding an extra sata cable.
This is a good PSU. I've had it for about 6 months and it never failed. Powered my E8400 running at 3.8 ghz, two GTX 260 CORE 216 55nm cards in SLI at 720/1530/1188 and the rest of my system (one hard drive, 10 fans at the time). I'm now using it on the same system but I have a GTX 480 overclocked to 863/1726/1050 (1.138v), 12 case fans and I even used a GTX 260 CORE 216 55nm SC in tandem with my GTX 480. Works great, great buy for $90. Beats the Corsair TX750 in every way.
@LFCforEver12341@LFCforEver12341 LOL, these reviews use software readings which mean nothing. There is no accuracy in them whatsoever. See the real reviews at GND-Tech and JonnyGURU. The TX750 does regulate a bit better (less drop) but both regulate around 2% on the main rails. However the TruePower New series have considerably better ripple suppression that is on par with some of the best power supplies, since some parts of this PSU come straight from the Seasonic M12D platform.
I've always been a fan of Antec and their power supplies have never failed me once. I purchased the TP 750 blue. Cable management is nice and it's for my new Phenom II setup with 2x5850. This power supply was/is on sale for 99$ on the NCIX website. Amazing deal.
@BMF123321: Of course it's still working. Corsair and Antec are extremely reliable power supplies. I run my PC for many hours a day. I'm an engineering student and I play games from time to time. Zero problems.
ok first of all, that rig is beastly with that ATI radeon HD 5970, and its core i7, next, i have an Ultra LSP750, 750W power supply, i was wondering is it good? compared to the Antec? not putting the fact that it is not modular? it has a nice 135mm fan over the 120mm fan on the antec that im sure of =D
I really missed up by getting a PCI 8400gs to use as a PhysX card with my 2 GTX 260 in SLI on a old NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI Intel Edition from Dell in a XPS 710. I get a really bad flicker in games when the 8400gs is in enabled as the PhysX card.
dont get corsair, go antec. they make very good psu's. corsair quality has been slacking recently.
btw, i'm running an antec earthwatts 650 watt psu.. only thing is i have a single card solution (gtx 295 x2), and i have a very robust power distribution system already in effect, so a 650 was fine (80 plus silver as well, total wattage: 375 under load 190 with gpu's idle, full idle , and i'm very proud of this, 75 watts.). for a true dual sli setup, you should never go below 750 continuous
Thermaltake is amazing. Been using them for the past 10 years and never have a problem. I'm currently using the: Thermaltake EVO Blue W0308RU 750W ATX This thing is amazing. It has every possible connector you can think of. It comes with a bunch of LEDs Blue Green Red Combo Blinking or steady, your choice, looks sweet in the night time in the dark. I have the Antec 900 Two case with the power supply on the bottom so I get to enjoy the beauty of this thing.
if your after a good PSU which doesnt break the bank check out his review of the NorthQ 850w Semi modular psu (motherboard cable is wired in) the rest are completly modular!
when selecting a power supply i always look at the voltage stability of the rails and thus far i have yet to see antec produce something that does this effectively. Corsair, Enermax and the new psu from XFX seem to be the way to go
Ok, this seems logical but im not sure. So..i have ddr2 667 memory and i want to get a motherboard that supports ddr2 800 and above. now can i put my 667 in there and just try and oc it or will it not work at all. I know it works the other way around it just lowers the clock. I would be thankful for any help. Oh and another thing..STFU ABOUT RAILS RODNEY!!! lol
I wish they would have included a 130mm or 135mm fan and more modular leads... Even I guess you will use the hardwired leads anyway it's easier to install the cables if the PSU is 100% modular or if only the 20/24pin motherboard connection is hardwired
that little smile of joy you seem to get when you can give a product a kick arse rating is what keeps me watching your videos, keep doing what you love.
@AnotherNutJob It means each rail can carry up to 25amps, but only 62 amps can be used at a time. So all 4 rails can never operate at full amperage at the same time.
I have an Enermax Liberty PSU and the only cables that are hardwired are for the motherboard and CPU. This is a poor excuse for a modular PSU. Why so many hardwired cables?
the silence of that fan gave me time to reflect on the things i regret. im sorry to everyone I murdered in 2004.

I think about buy the 550W Version of the PSU,
hopefully 550w are enough for my rig, but since Ill never get two GPUs or stuff like that it will do the job, eh?

This is one of the power supply I'm checking out for a i5 build.... I would prefer modular so there are only a few choices in the same price range
Antec True Power New 750W - TP-750,
Silverstone Strider+ 750W - ST75F-P
Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W - TRX-750M
What do you guys think of my options? There in the order of what I would prefer by the way

Yes, if a motherboard says it can take ddr2 800, you can fit any ddr2 memory up to 800mhz.
You can try installing 1066mhz memory aswell, but you will need to overclock the bus speeds of the motherboard.
Hope this helps =]
