Too bad most of the time the ACADEMY AWARDS get it more wrong then right and when they do its not for the right film.

DENZEL should have won Best Actor for this....but te next year he won for Training day....great for sure.

RUSSELL CROWE won for Best Actor for Gladiaor....great fimn for sure but HE should have won the previous year for his role in THE INSIDER.

IF OSCARS just went to the best performance EVERY YEAR and it was not politcal,or making up for past mistakes. Denzel would have 3 not 2.

It's interesting because Norman Jewison was the original director of Malcolm X (another fine Denzel Washington performance), but pulled out when Spike Lee asked to direct it. This seems to be Jewison's opportunity to make his own civil rights film, also with Washington. The Dylan song at 1:19 is classic.

yeh the Oscars are interesting. And then Sean Penn was robbed of the Oscar when Denzel won Best Actor for "Training Day" and then Mickey Rourke was robbed of the Oscar when Sean Penn won it for "Milk"....there's some sort of pattern lol
