I don't really like this version. Of course, the graphics are great, but the voices (especially Gray Fox!) don't sound as good. And every game has to have a tranq. gun now. They threw the M9 in this one. Not cool.

Its a great remake of a classic game. The only thing that hampers this experiance is the voice acting. Other then Snake they dont give the same level or performence like in the first game. They dont emote aswell as the did. Campbell in the beggingn sounds bored and a little monotnous. Still David Hayter gives an outstanding performance as Snake.

@Vextroid I actually think that Campbell's monotonous voice (for lack of a better term) in this version suits him better, being a military Colonel and all that. A character like Naomi however, who underwent the same sort of change, I don't think benefits from that sort of voice. I agree with you that the voice acting is, on the whole, far better in the Playstation version and I certainly prefer that version to this one.

This game is, to me, better but not better. I like the new cutscenes and graphics in this one, and the fact that enemies don't disappear, but the original MGS it was more of a challenge and Gray Fox's voice acting was good.

Solid Snake's a badass....

I used to have him smoking a stoug while viewing the credits and waiting for the elevator to arrive. It looks very badass with your smoking the cigarettes in that game.

This is a remake of playstation 1 game, which many people think is the first. But there was a MGS game before that on the first nintendo, that was only called Metal Gear. So this is really the second game, and MGS2 is really the third game, and MGS3 is really the fourth game.

Actually there are 2 canon games on the NES. Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake. You can play them on MGS3 Subsistence though. There are 6 canon games = Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid/Twin Snakes, Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty/Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater/Subsistence, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops. 4 doesn't count cuz it's not out yet =P

Ya know what I'm thinking exactly the same as you. The only 2 reasons I'd ever consider a PS3 over a 360 is Metal Gear Solid 4, then Resident Evil 5, but even Resident Evil 5's coming out on 360. Plus 360 has Halo. And I also want a PSP for Metal Gear, I want the graphic novel and portable ops =( Kinda regretting buying a Lite right now.
