Except he did do this... faith isn't required to believe in God. Faith is required to find evidence to validate said belief... which will strengthen said belief but belief is easy enough where all it takes is a little introspection and agnosticism...
That is the formula btw: Philisophical introspection + agnosticism = belief and faith + evidence = knowledge.
I feel being part of one party, whether Democrat or Republican represents a level of close mindedness. Thats why the right and the left never gets the whole picture because they pick and choose little parts of the picture that fit their political beliefs and disregard the rest. And too much of conservatism is based on belief and not facts. This goes for both foreign and domestic policy. And they just pretty much blame everything on liberals.
And as far as the comment about evolution. And the metaphor about evolution and progression was inspired by an atheist social conservative who spoke on how the evangelical right was basically hindering the GOP. And the majority of the GOP doesn't believe in evolution and if they do they are too scared to speak up for fear of losing their base. The ones who call abortion murder but don't give a damn about killing Iraqi children. The ones who put materialism in the form of capitalism before god.
One thing about the liberals I can respect is that they do not let religion that is all theory and speculation dictate law or how the government works. Why should somebody be open minded to fantasy? Should one be open minded to the tooth fairy? Fairy tales for the most part have some kind of moral lesson. And there is really not much in christian morals that didn't already exist long before christianity. Should one be open minded to greek mythology?
Greek mythology did not display decent morals. I am not sure where you came up with that one. As for Christianity----To someone without faith, no amount of explanation will suffice. To someone with faith, no explanation is needed. You have to want to know God and step out in faith. He does not force himself upon you. I was right where you are once, and i will never go back again. I finally have purpose, peace, and joy despite my circumstances. The world can't give you that.

Yes i do. I do not focus on people, but rather on what God wants from me. I am not perfect and never will be. God knows my heart. People do not. People hold grudges. God does not. It all goes back to faith. God changed my life radically 12 years ago and i would never go back to what i was living before. I was riddled with guilt always We cannot change ourselves. That is humanism. I tried that and kept screwing up. I had to give up all control and reach out. I love my life now.
My morality question was based around the fact that Christianity seems to be primarily focused on spreading the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection (and the benefits for humanity that come from that), rather than trying to enforce any kind of morality. I mean, when you can and will be forgiven for any sin, big or small, the accountability factor kinda goes down a lot, which would seem to have a weakening effect on morality.
I'm not a liberal and liberals can be closed minded to but conservatives take closed mindedness to the extreme. This has alot to do with the connections between conservatism and christianity were even questioning preset ideologies is on the level of blasphemy. And remember in the mind of conservatives they are Jesus' favorite people. They are his political sword. And the thing about religion is that there is no proof at all that can even suggest the existence of a christian god.

He appoints his unqualified buddy to head FEMA, whom was slow, uncoordinated and inefficient to the Katrina response. He cut taxes for cooperations who outsource jobs.

His vice president and some members of his cabinet are also people with no executive experience. one was even investigated for corrupt practices. Cutting taxes for corporations actually benefits the consumer by reducing prices and creating jobs so dont be so quick to judge. and the outsourcing of jobs is just a natural function of the economy, which we can do nothing about.

The members of the House and Senate who voted for the Iraq war have paid a political price, especially Clinton. The 73% of the population who opposed the war has now become the 86% who think it was a bad decision. Nothing validates the war opposition more than the fact that one of the few who put their political future on the line to protest this popular mistake is now our President.
Obama not only opposed this war, but he warned that it would divert our efforts in Afghanistan and allow the Taliban to regain control of much of it. That is exactly what has happened. Over half of Afghanistan is back under Taliban control because our military was spread too thin in Iraq. Also, if you are warned of a grand scale attack and even told how it will be done, you don't simply ignore it just because it's unprecedented. That's dumb.
You don't have to violate civil liberties and our right to privacy and dissent in order to protect us. That is an argument made by dictators. Ok, let me ask you this. What is the difference between tax cuts for major corporations and "government stimulus" where they, essentially, hand over large sums of money to major corporations? They are exactly the same thing except for one minor detail. Tax cuts, not only maintain / increase consumption, but they also increase investment... whereas bailouts only maintain / increase investment without doing anything for consumption.
What conservatives have always said about tax cuts is only theory. Give businesses more money and they'll invest more, right? Well, not exactly. That should be the case, but everytime it's tried, it has the adverse effect. That is because taxes have little influence over what a business invests. It's demand that drives businesses to invest. Hoover, Nixon, Reagan and both Bushes learned that, much to our detriment. Stimulus creates demand which does more to drive business investment.
That's simply not true. Giving businesses more money doesn't work, but lowering corporate taxes DOES create incentive to start NEW BUSINESSES. This is economic fact. Giving already existing businesses tax breaks simply lowers their liabilities. Giving pre-existing businesses stimulus increases their assets. The difference between stimulus and tax breaks is that tax breaks increase net worth AND incentive, whereas stimulus only increases net worth.
Again, collins, everytime business get tax breaks while individuals get nothing, demand goes and so does the businesses. Therefore, businesses simply pocket tax breaks while they continue lay offs. The trickle down effect has always failed while the bottom up effect, not really a new concept, has always led to prosperity. Not to mention it reverses the damage of trickle down.
I wasn't talking about the trickle down effect... I don't think that the trickle down effect works. The real problem is unions and long term contracts... but thats another story.
I was talking about tax breaks for consumers. The point is to increase CONSUMPTION.... lol... Tax breaks for businesses is simply needed to sustain the net gains from the consumer tax cuts / refunds...

The fact of the matter is that stimulus DOES NOT run on the bottom up theory... tax breaks do.
What is happening in the stimulous package is that money is going directly from the gov't, to the corporations. This allows specific, hand selected corporations, by the governement, to have a better chance at success than other, not so lucky, corporations. That money will hopefully move from the company, to the workers; trickle down.

Tax breaks have never created jobs. It worsened the Great Depression, deepened the early eighties recession, reversed the surplus left by Clinton and excelerated the job loss at end of the Bush era. Only through stimulus were we able to recover.
Obama's experience includes 2 yrs in the U.S. Senate, 2 yrs in the State Senate and 8 years as a state legislator. There is no historical evidence that candidates from executive positions fared any better as President. Obama has already began withdrawing troops from the war and he'll have all bu 50k our by 3/2010 and the rest out by 8/2011. Also, 1 year from now you'll see a rise in employment, the stock market and wages. I hope you're around for me to rub your nose in it.

Yeah, he'll give a $500 tax rebate check but just imagine if you could take home $200 MORE per pay if your FICA/Federal taxes were cut. In a year's time that's $5200 more dollars IN YOUR POCKET. Which one will create a biggerstimulus effect? You do the math! The $500 or the $5200???

I feel being part of one party, whether Democrat or Republican represents a level of close mindedness. Thats why the right and the left never gets the whole picture because they pick and choose little parts of the picture that fit their political beliefs and disregard the rest. And too much of conservatism is based on belief and not facts. This goes for both foreign and domestic policy. And they just pretty much blame everything on liberals.

Yes i do. I do not focus on people, but rather on what God wants from me. I am not perfect and never will be. God knows my heart. People do not. People hold grudges. God does not. It all goes back to faith. God changed my life radically 12 years ago and i would never go back to what i was living before. I was riddled with guilt always We cannot change ourselves. That is humanism. I tried that and kept screwing up. I had to give up all control and reach out. I love my life now.

My morality question was based around the fact that Christianity seems to be primarily focused on spreading the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection (and the benefits for humanity that come from that), rather than trying to enforce any kind of morality. I mean, when you can and will be forgiven for any sin, big or small, the accountability factor kinda goes down a lot, which would seem to have a weakening effect on morality.

Here's what Bush did: 1. He ignored intellegence breifings that could have prevented 9-11. He invaded Iraq under false pretence. No WMDs, we weren't greeted as liberators, it turned out to be a 4 way civil war that we're in the middle of with no exit strategy, cost 4 trillion dollars, a hike in oil prices and healthcare.
He appoints his unqualified buddy to head FEMA, whom was slow, uncoordinated and inefficient to the Katrina response. He cut taxes for cooperations who outsource jobs.

Obama not only opposed this war, but he warned that it would divert our efforts in Afghanistan and allow the Taliban to regain control of much of it. That is exactly what has happened. Over half of Afghanistan is back under Taliban control because our military was spread too thin in Iraq. Also, if you are warned of a grand scale attack and even told how it will be done, you don't simply ignore it just because it's unprecedented. That's dumb.

They are exactly the same thing except for one minor detail. Tax cuts, not only maintain / increase consumption, but they also increase investment... whereas bailouts only maintain / increase investment without doing anything for consumption.

What conservatives have always said about tax cuts is only theory. Give businesses more money and they'll invest more, right? Well, not exactly. That should be the case, but everytime it's tried, it has the adverse effect. That is because taxes have little influence over what a business invests. It's demand that drives businesses to invest. Hoover, Nixon, Reagan and both Bushes learned that, much to our detriment. Stimulus creates demand which does more to drive business investment.

That's simply not true. Giving businesses more money doesn't work, but lowering corporate taxes DOES create incentive to start NEW BUSINESSES. This is economic fact. Giving already existing businesses tax breaks simply lowers their liabilities. Giving pre-existing businesses stimulus increases their assets. The difference between stimulus and tax breaks is that tax breaks increase net worth AND incentive, whereas stimulus only increases net worth.

The fact of the matter is that stimulus DOES NOT run on the bottom up theory... tax breaks do.
What is happening in the stimulous package is that money is going directly from the gov't, to the corporations. This allows specific, hand selected corporations, by the governement, to have a better chance at success than other, not so lucky, corporations. That money will hopefully move from the company, to the workers; trickle down.

Obama's experience includes 2 yrs in the U.S. Senate, 2 yrs in the State Senate and 8 years as a state legislator. There is no historical evidence that candidates from executive positions fared any better as President. Obama has already began withdrawing troops from the war and he'll have all bu 50k our by 3/2010 and the rest out by 8/2011. Also, 1 year from now you'll see a rise in employment, the stock market and wages. I hope you're around for me to rub your nose in it.

Furthermore, "What" should be capitalized since it's the first word of the question. Which then leads me to the Question Mark which is missing from the end of your question.
