I've this bike and is awesome, very comfortable not too much power but more than any other 250 4t on the market, torque and response are more than anybody could expect of it and of course you can reach 170 kmh
Eliminate your rear fender, and it'll look like a true beauty. If you don't want to, thats alright too lol, it still looks like a beauty! You're lucky to own a bike like this. Take good care of it, and of yourself. Ride carefully and avoid lunatic cagers!
Dude, i have a question, and i´d be so glad if you could answer it for me. I´m looking for buying a ninja 250r, but I travel a lot. I´m not looking for speed, but i need it to be comfortable when riding at 120km/h. How many RM is it when it´s on last gear and 120km/h? I´d appreciate if u answer me :) Thanks mate.
@gunslinger3333 It has ... 200 KMH on the clock so id assume it can do atleast 3 quarters of that quite easily ;S ive seen a few video's of people managing to get 190KMH with mods to the engine such as K&N and full exhaust system :S
I dont own the ninja but can surely tell you that 120 km/h will be at least 7500 - 8000 rpm.
Which is not super comfy but acceptable
It would be great for traveling like half an hour a day max but you ll wear it out quickly if you do more cause of the constant high rpm and small cubic size ..
@Fiercefighter2 - It may top out at 160 stock, but it'll be buzzy when driven for log periods at highway speeds. That bigger sprocket will help a lot.
@billyedtimmy1 yeah this is true. when i get extra money for a performance exhaust im going to order a smaller rear sprocket with it as well. or a bigger front one
@xulasx revs around 8k at 120km/h. People have traveled across canada on this bike no problem, its pretty comfy, but with the stock seat my cheeks start to get sore after about 100km
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this thing is a shit ahahah sorry for my english, i'm italian...this "bike is so ugly"..the price is too high for a "bike" that has so few hp and for a poor build quality...4t sucks viva the 2t..this is a bike for loser i'm sorry...In my country we use to do like this: 14 years old aprilia rs 50 o scarabeo, 16 aprilia rs 125 (this bike is two times better than a ninja 250), at the age of 18 you can buy a aprilia rs 250 or a 600 depo and 21 no limits.I prefer to drive a scooter that a ninja 250r
well if your looking for power this is not the bike, for you dumbass, but if you want to look sexy and smooth then this is the bike for you which is why im getting it myself, dumbass
If you're looking for a bike that will fulfill your need for speed, then OBVIOUSLY a 500 and under isn't going to work for you. As far as this bike is for "losers." Thats subjective. I enjoy this bike and I don't see how that makes me or other riders "losers."
@theandre64 have fun rebuilding the motor on the rs125, the ninja 250r is 4 stroke and its super reliable not to mention its a parallel twin so it sounds smooth.
bike is made in thailand huh? i watched a documentary on kwakas the company is japanese an have been for around 200 years and nothing they produced is built in thailand so if you would kindly stfu so ppl can watch it would be much appreciated. and yes i do own one.
@FinalExtinction "Bajaj says that the CKD kit of the bike to be assembled locally in India at the Chakan plant will be imported from Thailand. The Ninja 250R is made in Thailand for various markets around the world." Please go read up before you open your pie hole sonny boy.
you sir, are a moron.. pretty obvious you have never riden this bike.. for a 250!! they are a great bike..
my guess is your all about your displacement, in which case, you fail to notice certain things like here in australia, for the first 12 months on full license, you can't ride bigger then a 250 or approved learner bike.. so this makes for a great choice for beginners due to many reasons..
So STFU, get an education and maybe do some practical research before posting poor comments..
B4 calling people morons and making complete blanket statements. I am Australian and you can ride more then just 250cc.. Ever heard of lams ? so like I said Blanket statements are not cool mr hypocrite and if you are in a LAMS state and bought that piece of thailand rubbish LOL @ YOU ....... My brother has a RVF400 on his L's and it shits on your bike punk you got ripped off and your a newb. Maybe you should not just listen to Mr Salesman who "told" it is a great bike... please stfu
haha, do you know how to read.. "can't ride bigger then a 250 or approved learner bike", ie: LAMS.. haha, also, the bike is Japanese designed, however, Australian Built and assembled.. Your Thailand bs is what is referred to as a "Grey import"..
Secondly, tell your brother to meet me at the track and he wont stand a chance, he'll get the jump but he'll be smoked soon there after..
When i say do some research, i mean actual research (like a test ride) rather then just using Google you knob..
buddy your bike is shit. It is made in Thailand like all of the so called "Ninja's" that are just underpowered shit your bike is no different then the LAMS ninja 650rl they are second rate bikes made for retards. Why on earth you bought this bike or a 250 amazes me , The RVF400 weighs only a little more then your bike and has twice the horsepower and is known for its awesome handling potential. It keeps up with 600's on the track ... your bike simply cannot do this stop the bs its shit
Do some research you looser.. and maybe go back to school while your at it.. Thailand and Japan are different countries with different origins.. Im guessing you failed Geography.. Secondly, if you knew anything about the bike, you know its built and assembled in australia.. Lastly, if you have actually ever rode this bike, you would know what the bike is..
I'm done with you, you already dug the hole for yourself when you don't even know what your talking about..
also noob, have you actually had a bike on the track?? ever been to a track day?? ever riden these bikes on a track day?? my bet is your not even old enough to have your license.. just some little kid that thinks he knows the world.. Good luck to you..
Listen Noob this is the last time I am going to tell you as stated on WIKIPEDIA "With the arrival of the EX250-J, manufacturing continues to be located in Thailand." For someone who talks big you sure know nothing you stupid fuck. And to answer your Question I am probably twice your age and have ridden bikes since I was 16 on road and yes I have competed and ridden on both MX and road track bikes varying from Vintage to Current 600 class please STFU you stupid pimple faced fuckwit.
You are seriouslu one stupid little fuckwit, All I said from the start was this bike is cheap shit from thailand as is the Ninja 650R and RL and are ALL made in Thailand. And yes when out and about riding or at a track people do laugh at your Bing Tang snot rockets.
well, you say your from australia for staters, however the legal riding age for your learners is 18, not 16, this is a bike, not a car..
secondly, you prove me right.. wikipedia.. the closest you've come to this bike is the internet, so you prove me right yet again..
Thirdly, anyone that uses the net knows wikipedia is not accurate. maybe try going to your local dealership, and asking them the nearest factory to you, visit, and watch them being constructed before your eyes. your a honda fanboy
You must be at least 16 years and 9 months old before you are issued with a learner rider licence. However, you may book into and attend a pre-learner course at the age of 16 years and 6 months. You do not have to hold a driver licence to get a motorcycle licence. As stated on RTA website
I have read several sources on the net saying the bike is from Thailand and spoken to reps from kawasaki trackside.
You are one stupid dumb ass motherfucker please stop your embarassing yourself
i see why what ever state you are from makes the legal riding age 18 if they are all as stupid as you no wonder they do not allow you on a bike at 16 you stupid fuck.
honestly mate, grow up.. if you dont like the bike, then dont comment on, or watch a video of it.. your the dude thats really embarasing himself, you just don't realise it yet.. take your 1989 honda shit elsewhere.. to you, have a shit one..
Is that it ? Is that all you have ? I have proved you wrong in everything you have said and all you can do is come up with that ? I really really have pitty for you son. Just remember every time you look at your bike and ride it it is a piece of underpowered gutless shit from thailand LOL @ you .... Fucking moron
lol, that all i will give, as you can't see further then yourself.. why argue with someone stuck as far up their own ass as you?? lol, theres no point.. you'll learn when you realise someday just how wrong you really were.. for now, its like hitting my head against a brick wall..
secondly, this video isnt mine you dickhead.. haha, but hey, you know everything don't you?? haha.. looser..
Either way you were proved wrong on several points you made and you dodge the 8 ball and try another angle. Just remember the bike is made in Thailand it is shit and so are you.
personal attacks are very mature mate.. haha, especially on the internet of all things.. Say what you want, i don't give a shit what you say.. either way, the majority of people who actually know their stuff know the real truth.. nothing you have said is proven or true, but hey, you like to think that so good luck boss.. im tired of you.. good day..
Well I will never grow tired of young bucks like yourself who like shit things I really enjoy replying to you and your mindless banter it is actually very entertaining sitting back and seeing how the mind of a moron ticks. viva la 250 ninja BING TANG ftw !!!
why do new riders often drop there bikes? i hear alot about stoppin at interesections and they'll drop their bikes, is it cause when you ride for a while and your legs give way when they're extended? or is just a weight issue from the bike? cheers!
When you do an abrupt stop and the wheel is turned at an angle, all the weight is shifted to that one side. And you can image how hard it is for new riders to try and hold all that weight. I hope that anwers your question :)
It's happened to me once when I was parking a while back and I almost had it. My friend tried to help me, but instead fell ontop of me... including our bikes haha
ya US. you can talk them down a lil bit too im sure.
anddd im not sure about the insurance. the younger you are, the more expensive it will be. i have a motorcycle now but its not registered so im not paying its insurance yet. im selling it for the bike seen above. maybe an '09.
Guys it's a nice Bike.. n also it has a nice kind of sound, but the problem is the sound while movin is lower than a scooter ,honestly guys, dunno why, i don't have ,but I've seen more than 20 in my eyes here in Jordan,Amman..
I put a $500 deposit down today for one that should come in tomorrow. Called the insurance company this mourning and full coverage costing me $165 6 months. I've never had a traffic violation of any kind but from what I've read that is pretty reasonable considering some pay as much for insurance as the bike cost. By the way if all goes as planned I'll be getting a 09 250r for $4389 on the road if they indeed get a 09 tomorrow. They said it might be an 08 and if it is I'm getting my deposit back.
deposit is something you give to the trader. Reason is to prove you aint messing them about and they order in a bike for you... if it was possible to be a 2008 model under that understanding you gave em the deposit.. you'v elost your money.
Approximately how much is the bike on it's own with tax. How much is the gear (gloves, helmet, jacket/back protector is probably all I will use)? And how much would insurance cost for an 18 year old? Oh, and license/registration in CA?
im planning to buy a kawasaki ninja 250r soon but i don't really know which year i should get the 08 or 09...i just want the bike buy january! and i want it new so im open to suggestion...just msg me plz!!!! oh and i live in CALI!!!!
Thats an awesome bike ! My father is bying me one this summer :) can't wait ! its going to be my first bike as well. do you like the ride? was it an easy bike to start with and get use to ?
i am so so soo ssoOOooo very jealous.. that is the bike i was looking at :( i don't have 4000 for that baby right now... let alone anything else dammit.
I've raced yz 125 and 250 moto my whole life. My younger brother has a new 250r and I getting one. It'll be my first street bike. I've heard people complain they're slow, honestly I think they should limit all bikes to 100 mph and cut the insurance rates in half. Ride safe
people are stupid if they complain there slow why do they think its called a 250r :P 250cc's and thats also why its less then 4 grand your not gonna get amazing speed but I don't i'm getting one
yeah that was pretty much my point. But I think I'm going to go with a Yamaha xt 250 mainly because I'm already comfortable with the design already and the insurance quotes I've got are a third as much 250r and they both are rated at 249cc
i paid 3599 for mine here in Newport News, Virginia. my first bike never been on one before! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! mine is black and i was on a short waiting list.
yeah in my state i can walk out the door with one for 4,000. I went to order one but kawasaki didn't make enough for demand, that's why some people are being screwed.
man all ya'll getting ripped off down here in louisiana you can get them brand new 4200, i would never pay 5500 or 6000 that is crazy. and no the dont have enough room for two helmets, it barely have enough room for your girl on the back , let alone two helmets., overall nice bike tho. for the money
So the "cowl" thing replaces the seat in the back and you CAN put a second person on it! AHA! Every time I see this bike in videos in has a cowl so I didn't know.
that's BS, bert's is quoted me $6000 out the door price and they didn't even have one, have to be on waiting list.I got one 4 days ago lime green for $4900out the door price at another dealer here in socal
11 dealers and "good luck replies" later we found 1 near 200 miles away that the owner canceled his deposit on! to boot they say its part of the last shipment comming to the states unless kawi bumps up the production numbers! otd was great 3649 with a full tank of gas free inspection and 10% off anything in the dealership for the next 2 years.. now a 4-6wk wait thats going hour by hour
Wow! I was very lucky then. I asked 2 dealerships for the 08 Ninja 250 back in Feb and both called me back with them in stock. I waited 3 days max with no deposit. Just keep on trying! It's worth it! :)

The Ninja will get the job done. But... it won't be easy if you are doing a constant 120km/h.
Max speed is probably about 140km/h.

why do new riders often drop there bikes? i hear alot about stoppin at interesections and they'll drop their bikes, is it cause when you ride for a while and your legs give way when they're extended? or is just a weight issue from the bike? cheers!
illestoftheday 2 years ago
When you do an abrupt stop and the wheel is turned at an angle, all the weight is shifted to that one side. And you can image how hard it is for new riders to try and hold all that weight. I hope that anwers your question :)
It's happened to me once when I was parking a while back and I almost had it. My friend tried to help me, but instead fell ontop of me... including our bikes haha

They said it might be an 08 and if it is I'm getting my deposit back.
matt78tv 3 years ago
lol.. you wont get your deposit back xD
deposit is something you give to the trader. Reason is to prove you aint messing them about and they order in a bike for you... if it was possible to be a 2008 model under that understanding you gave em the deposit.. you'v elost your money.
gandropp 3 years ago
Approximately how much is the bike on it's own with tax. How much is the gear (gloves, helmet, jacket/back protector is probably all I will use)? And how much would insurance cost for an 18 year old? Oh, and license/registration in CA?

$3499 is the MSRP, so you'd be lucky to have the dealer begin at that. Also with the availability and demand the dealer could crank that price up.

I've raced yz 125 and 250 moto my whole life. My younger brother has a new 250r and I getting one. It'll be my first street bike. I've heard people complain they're slow, honestly I think they should limit all bikes to 100 mph and cut the insurance rates in half. Ride safe
nephilymbass 3 years ago
people are stupid if they complain there slow why do they think its called a 250r :P 250cc's and thats also why its less then 4 grand your not gonna get amazing speed but I don't i'm getting one
PoppinDingy 3 years ago
yeah that was pretty much my point. But I think I'm going to go with a Yamaha xt 250 mainly because I'm already comfortable with the design already and the insurance quotes I've got are a third as much 250r and they both are rated at 249cc
nephilymbass 3 years ago
Wait, you're getting a DIRT BIKE?
jasonstheory 3 years ago
Not true i've seen people get an r6 for under 4 grand, two weeks later they were topping it at 140
skorlkid 3 years ago
yeah but insurance for an R6 is 12 grand a year.....
dmarijuanaman 3 years ago
I'm not saying it's practical, I'm just saying that for 4 grand you can get a good speed bike to ride. Insurance is a bitch no matter what you ride.
skorlkid 3 years ago 3
im paying 500 a year for a honda cbr125R
dmarijuanaman 3 years ago 2
how did you get one in the USA?
represent4life 3 years ago
not true, my insurance on my r6 is 58 a month full coverage.
EddyHil 3 years ago
ok so 700 a month, its like 8000 for a 16 year old, you must be over 25, with a great driving record youve earned it. if you say your under 25 lies
dmarijuanaman 3 years ago
i meant 650r.
alvarezah 3 years ago
I got my insurance for mine as $38 per month, I'm 23.

zachcantrelle 3 years ago

11 dealers and "good luck replies" later we found 1 near 200 miles away that the owner canceled his deposit on! to boot they say its part of the last shipment comming to the states unless kawi bumps up the production numbers! otd was great 3649 with a full tank of gas free inspection and 10% off anything in the dealership for the next 2 years.. now a 4-6wk wait thats going hour by hour
relxkief 3 years ago
Wow! I was very lucky then. I asked 2 dealerships for the 08 Ninja 250 back in Feb and both called me back with them in stock. I waited 3 days max with no deposit. Just keep on trying! It's worth it! :)
