Its called "locale" and it can be a handy app because u can program your phone to automatically switch to vibrate when u get to work or go to a movie theater. Only downside is that u need to have your GPS on at all times so it can drain your battery faster.

i got my droid the other day. i like it a lot. i never owned a iphone but i did own 2 ipod touches. similar to the iphone minus the calling and camera i guess. i hate at&t because i've had an unlimited talk plan with them and my calls kept dropping so I decided to get droid on verizon for that sole reason. let me tell you the droid is awesome. Almost all similar apps that can be found on iphone can be found on droid. it looks nice and you can use the qwerty and virtual qwerty. droid ftw serious.

That was a weak argument for the Droid. The iPhone is the Mercedes and the Droid is the, well, any American car. The iPhone does things well and it's a pleasure to use. The Droid is too clunky and did not need that physical keyboard. Sorry, but the iPhone is here to stay and gaining popularity even after almost 3 years. For Example: Flycast radio runs at the background. While its being played you can browse

The Droid does MORE than an Iphone, can an Iphone update without itunes? The Apple app store is shit, the only reason there is over 100,000 apps is because there is 10 copies of the same damn app. Yes Droid can be used as a security camera, the OS is just as easy to use as the Iphone. Can u get updates to RSS feeds and Podcasts on Iphone without hooking up to a computer with Itunes? Can u watch stuff off a DVR with Iphone? And yes you can sync Droid with a Mac.

I have yet to find an app or anything to update RSS feeds on the fly on Iphone. The Android system is easy is hell if u wanna stay basic, u click an icon how hard is that? Sure theres copies of apps on Android store but not as many copies just crowding the store and obviously theres gonna be more on apple app store the damn phone been out 3 years compared to maybe a year when the first Android phone rolled out. As for the App store for Iphone I believe it was in June of 08 but there was already a store for it for the Ipod and Ipod touch, IDK what kind of content was on it at the time but Im sure by the time it was released for Iphone it already had a big customer base, kind of like Xbox live and Xbox, Live came way after Xbox was released when there was a fan base already stated. I read the G1 released Thanksgiving of 08 as a limited release with a beta of android market, full release IDK

No, the App store launched June 27 2008, there was no previous iPod market base at anytime before. The App store only had 5 months over Android, yet it has 80,000+ more apps than Android. The App store is just flat out more successful than the Android marketplace right now.

The reason I brought up my G1 is because it runs on the same operating system as the Droid so my experiance with it is relevent to weather or not the Droid would be able to perform the multitasking functions. Do not confuse Apps multitasking with Making calls.

Apps multitasking is handled by the Application Processor and OS kernel design. Making calls is hanlded by the Baseband processor...two different things...any UMTS mobile can make Voice and Data calls (which is called concurrent services). DROID can also do it.
