I think that if you are in a high risk group, you should take the flu jab. I'm asthmatic and get the flu jab every winter,in 2010/11 the jab covered both H1N1 'swine' flu and normal flu. I haven't had flu for years. However, my chaotic friend Mark Mozaz Wallis didn't get the jab, and in January he got swine flu, then pneumonia, and died aged 45. Had he had the vaccination, he would most likely still be alive. If you are in a risk group, get the protection.
@compostjohn You may wish to consider taking Vitamin D3 supplements. I take 4000iu daily and I do not get flu! You may find it will also help your asthma.

Oh Bruce, I love you're neutral stance! I am so opinionated about this kind of stuff and it's refreshing to see a solid "reason" that's not forced. I do not have flu vaccines. Instead I take Vitamin D3 - 4000iu daily. Combined with my beliefs, it helps me have a strong immune system. :-)
