I've heard this for a few dozen times now and I am still impressed by the perfect performance.
However, one clear, but tiny mistake: It is "unseres Herzens Wonne", not "unseres Herzen Wonne". Such a tiny mistake but being a German, I always stumple upon this...
@JimPanse2k8 Thank you. Why not send The King's Singers an e-mail to tell them about this? I really think they would appreciate it, because it will make them even better.
(By the way, it is 'stumble', not 'stumple'. Ha ha.)
@JimPanse2k8 Agreed, and there's a really tiny niggle just after that as well - liegt in praesepio should be pronounced "leegt" instead of "laigt". Apart from that, a really great version! :)
@JimPanse2k8 Being a German, I would say: Perhaps the original German text from the 14th century actually says "Herzen". German grammar has not always been exactly as it is today. I cannot imagine the King's Singers would make such a mistake without a good reason :)
@hopicard Yes, that's possible. I recently sang a piece of Heinrich Schütz and in this it said "meines Herzen Trost", also without an s. The choir had really difficulties not to pronounce an s. :D And I just looked up an old version of the text of "In dulci" where it is "vnsers hertzen wunne"... so maybe it's actually the correct version. But today people normally sing "Herzens" as far as I know.
How Wonderful is This !!!
The King's Singers our the very Best !!

This sounds like a slightly 20th-century-ized version of a setting by Praetorius or one of his contemporaries.

@REV16665 No, this is most definitely Bach. I sang the arrangement recently. But it is amazing at how fresh it still sounds.

Beautiful melisma in the 2nd countertenor part right at the end. Looks like Tim Wayne-Wright has very much earned his stripes :)

Violadude96 6 months ago
@Violadude96
I don't know if it is allowed to put here a URL to the sheetmusic of this arrangement, but I have found a score in Latin-English version.
Leon8rd 1 month ago
@Leon8rd You could try, but I don't think YouTube will allow it. Why don't you send Violadude96 the URL by means of a personal message?

@GAR23LOVMUZ won't say they're better, but check out Chanticleer. Awesome group as well!
