  • My 38sc fiero setting in the driveway right now and I have a 3.4 pulley and mine wines and the fiero my friend never was wineing in the vidd turbooo

  • Exeat5 youre a fuckin moron. Learn about building fieros before you speak. Rather type. 3800 turbo beats SC on the quarter. Thats why you BUILD youre own engine

  • fiero owns everyone!

  • waste of time

  • first its not turbo for sure its supercharged or if its a buick regal engine (grand national) its not a 3800 its a 3.8 *no balance* AND Fiero 3800 S/C KICK ASS, im doing my swap soon !!!! already have the car and a block with 2 heads, u can get to 12 flat on the quarter mile with some small modif

  • ummmm. It clearly states in the description that it's a turbo L36. Which would be the n/a motor (stock).

  • who´s he winner?

  • Its all about tuning correctly, having a well built, well designed turbo setup, being smart on how you treat the engine, datalog as much information as possible.

  • Haven't been on here in a while, after reading some of the post I'd like to give some advice. The L67, L32 are the lower compression engines 8.5:1 w/eaton blower. L36, L26 n/a 9.4:1 comp. There is much to be gained by turbo charging either engine. I have have turboed setups in my fiero using both the L36 and L67. No bottom end problems what so ever running up to 15 psi on the stock L36 with a TO4B.

  • 280 is correct the lower compression ratio the higher the boost you can run, also all variations of the 3800 series II are basically bullet proof it is the transmission that is the weakest link, i found this out the hardway my cartunning tc kit killed my trans in about a month i had a beefy one made by intense racing and picked up another 50 horse and no slippage anymore, what i really want to find are lightweight pulleys, and flywheel

  • nice :D

I'm thinking about getting a fiero and dropping in a L27 and turboing it (after rebuilding most/all the internals) any suggestions how much boost the l27 can handle?

  • Depends on how you build it really.

  • those L32's are awesome engines :D Id probably go with a L67 and rip off the S/C, but either way you got an awesome engine, that loves the boost :D

  • the l32 is a better choice for turbo because they have a higher compression ratio. either way though, they will both be beasts ;)

  • i was thinking more because the L67 comes with stronger internals that can hold up to the boost, but that only really matters if you plan on getting up over 350whp. Ive been told the L32 can handle boost up to around 300-350hp

  • the l32 connecting rods are actually stronger. the l32 is can handle way over 300hp. ZZPs GT has 770 wheel hp and runs 8.6 in the 1/4 mile ;) look on my favorites for it.

  • i hate to throw a wrench in this idea (even though this comment is 3 months old) but you want to TC engines with lower compression ratios, that's kind of the reason people put lower compression pistons in their motor when they are converting to turbo

  • in most cases you would definitely right, but in the case of the 3800 series motor, it is better. the rods are slightly stronger and 9.4:1 really isnt too high. keep in mind zzp's grand prix gt has this 9.4:1 stock bottom end putting out 753 whp ;)

  • ( not being a dick ) But it's definitely not smart to take off the S/C of a L67 engine because thats where all the power is, the l67 has an 8.5 compression ( crap ) which is why it has the SC.. best application is a boosted L32 or L26 motor which has a 9.5 compression. You'd wanna do a "top swap"

  • naw, i didn't take your comment as being a 'dick'.. Learning something new is a good thing :P

  • he was just thinking since the L67 was already boosted that it would be the better choice for a turbo set up. You wouldn't lose power going turbo on a l67 but you can make more power in the long run with the l32

  • The non S/C 3800's would fall apart if you tryed to TC them.

  • they're probably just to turbo treated. they might be ok if you do that

  • Not really, the n/a blocks have shown to handle upwards of 300hp on the stock internals... more than that though and somethings gunna break.

  • You fail! That's why people build /L26's/L36's on a daily haha.

  • i hate mustangs! i love fieros :)

    i love this video..

    'nuff said...

  • awesome!
