  • I am 29. I have lived with Chron's for 10 years. It has been in remission for the past 6 years in remission. I had the Remicad infussions and it worked for me. I am now battling Wegner's disease which is another auto-immune disease. Thank you for posting this. You explained everything really well.

  • I'm a 14 year old rep hockey player and I'm only 4'9 and 95lbs. I got down to 50lbs when I was diagnosed at the age of 12. Any tips for a very undersized tube feeder? (stomach tube) thanks

  • I was diagnosed when I was 11 and went on the tube feed elemental diet. It was awful. I couldn't eat for 6 weeks and being so young it was awful! I started puberty around 14 and had to go onto the tube feed again.. so tough. I am 16 now and going strong. I just hope and pray I don't have to go through that again!

  • Hi Kady/ My name is Kayla and I'm 16 I was diagnosed with Crohns about 2 years ago and I've been on every medicine possible including Remicade and Cyclosporine which was my last resort medicine and it worked for me for about 6 months and I started getting sick in May and unfortunately I've had to have surgery and I'm struggling with depression and insecurity because of how skinny I am. It really sucks and I'm having a hard time opening up about it with friends and family.

  • I don't believe you have tried Gerson Therapy. Please learn about it, read all of the books and look at the movies "The Beautiful Truth", and Gerson Miracle. The book called "healing The Gerson Way"by Charlotte Gerson with Beata Bishop. Read page #92. It has a case about a15 YR old that HAD Crohns Disease.

  • great video. your right...you loose a lot of friends. It probably hit you at the worst possible time in your life. I was diagnosed when I was 7 so crohn's is all I ever knew. I was lucky enough to get through high school and college...I think I weighed the same for each graduation just under 100lbs. Good job on pushing through high school. Keep your head up...your not alone.

  • I have a simple solution

  • HeadUpGoregeous I would love for you to email me too! I am going to be heading to nursing school. I would love to talk about your experience

  • Living dead girl I would love to talk to you about your story. Email me so we can talk! KadyHaha@yahoo.com. I have had a few other treatments since this video

  • wow your story sounds like a better version of mine..waay better. :S I've been diagnosed with crohns at the age of 7. Now im 19. My crohns was never mild..or light..for some reason mines has been severe since i was diagnosed. I have been on everything for crohns. I have had 18 surgeries since i was 7 up til now. Try humira..remicade so far is not working...its not doing anything. hey i graduated 2nd highest in school and I've been out for months on end. O_o

  • @LivingDeadGurlXXX: There are certain liquid mixture you can create with herbs that will improve the condition and even better.....

  • I'm in a very similar situation, I'm 19 and was diagnosed at 14. The thing that really got me was that i was mid puberty, and it completely stunted my growth. I look like a 14 year old girl, no chest at all.

Im now a student nurse at university, but not many people don't have much sympathy for people with this disease, they don't understand and sometimes the jokes behind your back and soul destroying.

Glad your talking about it and trying to create more awareness. Your doing great things :D

  • @HeadUpGorgeous: I placed a naturopathic approach on my channel in the comment section that addresses crohn's as well as other GI issues. It is 6parts total and will remain posted for a short time. Also note it is in the comment section and it is not a video.

  • I'm 49. Was diagnosed at 24. You can survive it. Unpleasant at times, but there will be periods of remission if you're one of the lucky ones like me.Just don't let them talk you into alot of prednisone.

  • I am right there with you katy I went through a lot of that. Diagnosed at 20 I am 21 now. I wonder what causes this disease.. so many things to consider, food additives. pharmaceuticals something in the water or in the air. I am sure we can thank the corrupt government for these diseases all the sicknesses that are sprouting up now. Regardless I believe there is a "natural" cure (not something sold to you by the sickness industry and a correct diet to fix this.

  • Hello Katie,

My 14 year old son was diagnosed a year ago and after a year of steroids and lots of other drugs he is due to start on his infliximab/remicade tomorrow. watching your video's have certainly put my mind at rest, I just wish I could get him to watch them, but he is a 14 year old boy who doesn't want to talk about it! you are an absolute inspiration and so very brave, we send you lots of love and luck with the future. x

  • just get some medical marijuana...

  • Hi, I hope your Infliximab (Remicade) treatment is working out well. I am a 36yo male from Australia and have had Crohns for 13years, have been through 3 major flare-ups, the last after 6 years of remission on Azathioprine (Imuran), but have had to switch to Infliximab as well, which I have been on for almost 3 years (8 weekly infusions). I was amazed at the turnaround in my health. Like you I have had times where my life has been on hold, but now I can be a proper father to my 2 sons.

  • Love ya KD

  • Katie, I am a 47 year old male and was just diagnosed with Crohns Disease. I have had symptoms for 15-20 years. 5 years ago I was misdiagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I thing you are a very brave young lady for putting out these videos. Thank you.

  • Remember, President Eisenhower had Crohn's, Mike McCreedy from Pearl Jam, Shannon Doherty, and David Garrad NFL QB. You can be successful.

    I've had Crohn's since I was 15 and I'm 38 now. Stay well!

  • I have had Crohn's since I was 15 and I'm 38 now. Hang in there! New meds and treatments keep getting better and better.

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • Look into "The Specific Carbohydrate Diet".. It was a life saver for me with my ulcerative colitis.

  • hi katie, im 19 yo male, i recently was diagnosed with crohn's, i may not feel what ur feeling cause its all new to me,.... to be honest im scared, and completely alone in this fight, my parents say its all just in my head and that u can't be sick forever,... i barely know nothing about this but i do know it's not just going to go away, i've only had it for a month and im starting to lose what it feels to be normal, its scary for me but now im having thoguths of death, but thank you so much

  • Hey, im Jamie! Im 15 and i've had crohn's for 5 years. I know what your going through! I've been searching for 5 years just to try to find something to put me into remission. I've tried everything. It either doesnt work or im alergic. Im now on remicade for the 2nd time. I took it for about a year and a half before i got my first reaction then i took it again and got another reaction.. Well im back on it now and my bodies not liking it. • I've had Crohns for 12 years and I am now 25.

    - If your friends don't accept they aren't friends.

    - Be careful what help you accept as it can make you lazy.

    - Drugs don't always work, I've been better without. Drugs are for VERY BAD times.

    - I feel so much better after cutting milk, white bread and coke. It only takes 1 month to kick the habit of consuming these.

    - Never give up, the good side of Crohns is that it can drive your future success.

    - Use your down time to educate yourself

  • @djal2cool Also remember to kick ass, it is your duty as a sufferer of Crohns disease to kick ass, kicking ass takes up all your time, if you kick ass all the time you won't have time to be ill.

    ALasdair

  • @djal2cool that's some of the best advice i've heard as a Crohn's-inflicted person. it's about learning to laugh about it, and realizing you can still live life to it's fullest!

  • @jsevere24 Hi dude, my crohns has been pretty bad but with a good attitude you have a reason to recover!

  • About 20 years ago i was diagnosed with Chrones disease, i was given a sulfa drug to begin, you are very sick for 3 days and then you get used to it. a lot of my hair fell out and i had to be very careful of what i ate. I was very weak, and just stayed in bed, i then turned to God and pleaded for help, He told me that if i watched my diet i would get well and stay well, i have only had a few flareups since then and i am not on any meds. I'm very thankful, I pray you will get well.

  • im so sorry for you.. :/

  • thanks for sharing i had a colonoscopy last saturday waiting for results , they took biospy 3 of them, they found ulcers on my bowels so just waiting for results i find it hard to cope with 24 hour pain and bathroom trips,

  • There is a cure...visit a Naturopathic Doctor. I have a video on my youtube channel about it.

  • @LarryCook333 By the way, my mom had Crohn's disease...and she died because of iot and many other complications. Poor diet/wrong diet, lack of friendly bacteria in the gut, using prescription meds that destroy all the systems...these cause the perpetual problem. But like Katieshealinggarden said, there is a cure for all chronic diseases. People cure themselves every day...you just have to know how to find them and then do what they did. Simple.

  • Thank you so much for sharing your story! We have alot of cool resources on our IBDU.org website. Please check us out!

  • wow! Thank you so much for sharing!! Please check out our site at IBDU.org .

  • when you said you "felt like I was crushed. I felt like I had been defeated. That is the worst feeling with this disease. Is it definitely takes over your whole body along with your mind at some points."

You said that so perfectly. No matter how positive you are...it breaks you down sometimes....:(

  • Crohnz has ruined my life forever, i use to be the alpha male, party animal, popular with lots of friends. 5 years later i lost allot of friends, i have no hope to start a family or get married. Doctors cant help me, i dont trust them anymore, i have found out that THEY DONT MAKE CURES for anything, because there is no money in cures! So im on the natural path on a strickt diet, which makes me want to go crazy sometimes, it sux....

  • @Hillsillverr -they were not your friends in the first place if they drifted off when this dis-ease happened. happened to me too ! - it teaches one something .

gotta agree with the totally naturaly food way

-nothing in a packet- keep going.

some good advice on correct vit's/mineral needed to rebuild the intestinal mucosa is out there -do that an as we all know absorbsion/food uptake is assisted greatly.

no processed anything!, organic everything, b12, good probiotics, digestive ensymes....

  • Katie....our current Medical System has no real help or cure for Crohns.....but there IS a cure......just look up "Natural Cures for Crohns.......on this site......there are natural cures for all chronic diseases. But your doctor either doesnt know or would not tell you because if they cured you.......they would put themselves out of Business.....there is no MONEY in a cure! Don't be lied to! God Bless!

  • hey katie just wanted to thank you for your story i am 30yold male from australia and for the last 8 years have been struggling with this horrible disease.remacade was the last treatment i was on and it worked well for about 1 year before i started having problems with sideaffects, however i do know people who are thriving on it,all we can do is try these drugs and hope for the best so i hope its the one for you and you can win .its so hard too study/work and have a social life good luck +thanks

  • i am trying to do these videos for people like you and me. i have never been able to find anything that works i understand about the studies and work. that has also been hard for me over the small 5 years i have had this disease. All i can say is to never stop trying, and keep your spirits high! i know first hand that this disease can get to you really deep from how hard it can be but i just remember who im raising money and awareness for and that is more then just you and me.

  • top marks for bravery katie
