Out of 50 shots 20 hit the Altima. Bell was hit 4 times;Guzman was hit 13 times; Benefield was hit 3 times. Grand total of 20 hits out of 50 shots at a very short distance. That is terrible shooting even if you agree that it was justified. Taking all 50 shots and dividing by 50 you get a 52 percent hit rate verses a 49 percent miss. Where did these officers get their marksmanship training? Regardless of what side of the issue you are on: these statistics are unacceptable.

The reason you don't hear about white people being shot by police, and believe it or not, they are (even in NYC in the Summer of '08) because we don't make a big deal of it. The reason you hear about black people getting shot by cops is that it's always made into a big deal, and by the way, it doesn't happen that often. A lot more whites are killed by blacks than vice versa, if you don't believe me, look at the stats, they're overwhelming.

I'm White I get stopped By cops while walking home getting off the subway coming home for work every now and then. I've been pulled over while driving my car just so the cops could rip my car apart looking to hopefully find something. Shit I've even had Guns pulled on me when cops responded to the Wrong adress when I was 17 .

some policemen went from being the one you find when your lost when I was growing up to triggerhappy mofos in bullet proof vests abusing their power. I have seen it with my own eyes, it happened to me in sc, it needs to stop, right now, one love and notice I said some cuz all aint like that

so joe. i have not even stated my opinion of the incident yet. what i am trying to do is break this down to two different issues...
was deadly force justified? and, was this intentional by the officer or is this an issue of response. even though you seem to look at me as an adversary i believe you are pretty level headed and just need to understand some other issues before you call someone a "coward" because i do not believe that was the case.

Out of 50 shots 20 hit the Altima. Bell was hit 4 times;Guzman was hit 13 times; Benefield was hit 3 times. Grand total of 20 hits out of 50 shots at a very short distance. That is terrible shooting even if you agree that it was justified. Taking all 50 shots and dividing by 50 you get a 52 percent hit rate verses a 49 percent miss. Where did these officers get their marksmanship training? Regardless of what side of the issue you are on: these statistics are unacceptable.

joe, can you guess what percentage of soldiers in combat during wwII had a loss of bladder control?
yes training could help but you cannot train all soldiers to a level equal to that of special forces. the only true way to desensitize to combat is to be in combat. new forms of training have helped but are still not the same and also expensive.
so do you see where i am starting to go here? how do we train our police to a level high than a soldier?
btw. the answer is approx 50%.
