  • lol Australians' have funny looking money

  • Putting a watermark on your videos gets an automatic downvote. Even though this clip is informative you do not watermark something you do not own.

  • I wish they still had this show on Discovery Channel. It was the best.

  • i hope america changes to plastic notes like australia has

  • Amazing, just got my hands on the new 100 Canadian note, ran it under the tap and put soap on it, no big deal!!

  • And btw, thanks for explaining all these details. I'm ordering my plastic roll-to-roll machinery today.

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper just to make zillions of one-shot cash cards, similar to the gift cards you can buy in every convenience store?

  • Canada now has 100 dollar plastic money. i wonder how many counterfeiters are watching this right now lol :)

  • The Note Printing Australia building is 5 minutes away from where I live, I often drove by it wondering how they make these notes and now I know :D

  • Just don't let it go through your washing machine or you'll be left with a white piece of plastic. on the $5 notes if you spit on them and rub in the same place for a few minutes you can actually rub the queens face off. So they aren't as indestructable as they seem.

  • @shazdee thats bull shit you cant rub anything off

  • @maxsimmer400 It doesn't work now but when they introduced the plastic money it did. I had one go through the wash and it came out almost blank. I guess they've changed the way they make them because I just got one out and tried it and you're right it doesn't work anymore.

  • They are called currencies, not money.

  • DO THIS AMERICA!

  • It's great that you can wash the money and still use it afterwards. Let the money laundering continue......

  • ha money made out of thin air from federal reserve banking system privately owned company/business

  • well just to let you know you can use scissors and it will brake

  • 5:54 amazing girl on black!!

  • from New Zealand to NEPAL.....wow

  • I hear the US economy is so bad they're printing greenbacks on green garbage bags!

  • Melbourne? Looks more like Hobart... first two certainly aren't Melbourne.

  • @jimmyjamjar10101 It's called a guillotine, And it's impossible. It uses lazers to detect body heat etc.

  • Comment removed

  • @jimmyjamjar10101 There are 5 safety measures in in-place. And it requires two buttons for it to go down, meaning you have to use two hands. I know, our company uses 12 of the latest. Please think about your comments before you post.

  • @jimmyjamjar10101 I don't work in money, i work in paper. And I have also worked in Metal. And the only reason it is foot operated is due the heavy loads. That, also. Is lazer assisted. And I fail to see how I was a " pompous asshole" For informing you. Who, honestly thinks a company that produces currency, would use 80's machinery. And your way, "maximum" productivity. Is also incorrect. The latest ones offer such speeds. Your 80's technology, does not.

  • Actually Canada has an upper edge among other countries too. Nevermind the manysecurity features their banknotes have that can't be forged, but the money is also made of cotton so water can't ruin it.

However it's still susceptible to rip and wear.

  • FK YEAH were the SMARTEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD haha bloody yanks and there paper money what do they think this is monopoly?

  • @ultrazeen380 I'm Australian. And going by your ego. You are to. But you sound like a douche bag. You make us look bad. Turn your caps lock off. Fix your grammar, Learn to form a coherent sentence. And use proper punctuation and capitalization.

    You're welcome.

  • @cobolt13 Or you could have some pride and stand up for a fellow auzzie i say were the smartest and you dare contest us you just insulted yourself good mate well done....

  • @ultrazeen380 And you just insulted Australia's educational system with that grammar.

  • @cobolt13 so you agree you just stabed a mate in the back heh... do you enjoybeing a nazi a grammar nazi i mean

  • @ultrazeen380 I'm not usually friends with the retarded.

  • It gives a new meaning to the term " Money laundering"

  • lol australian money looks so pretty :D :))

  • The Philippines just released new series of Peso. As usual it is made from cotton and paper that deteriorates easily. How I wished that our Peso is also plastic=)

  • shit, now i gonna need to steal money and probably kill people because i cant find a job ...

  • cool

  • Disgusting to use plastic for money!

  • It's about time Canada is finally catching on. Can't wait to see it up close.

  • Hope every country can employ this method sometime in this decade. You can easily convert the forged foreign currency into the Australia/UK/USA dollar/pound at any currency exchange center. At a large scale this will still have an effect on inflation and money circulation.

  • anybody else wanna pop that bubble?

  • I'm guessing in 50 years, cash will be made out of flexible metal.

  • @n3rdbear In 50 years cash will be obsolete. It's being replaced by credit.

  • @blanknot lol in your dreams because some people still want anonymity and that homemade lemonade stand at the corner of your street isn't gonna dish out hundreds of dollar on a machine that processes credit cards.

  • @n3rdbear And we'll never be able to travel to the other side of the world in one day... listen to yourself.

  • @blanknot you listen to yourself because clearly you don't know the advancement process of technolgoy

  • Canada and USA is doing this soon! woohoo! can't wait! there already starting with the $100 bill :D

  • @VerifiedSwifties13 Actually, only Canada is doing this, not the US :/

  • @VerifiedSwifties13 Just Canada

  • i don't understand why counterfeiting is an issue in my country "canada" when 95 % of our money is digitally counterfeited by private banks to begin with :S

  • canada is doing the same soon :) im excited

  • Thanks Australia for coming up with plastic money. Can't wait till it becomes popular in our country.

    - Canada

  • your username doesn't need to be in the fucking video god...

  • brb trying that out.

  • 7 ppl tried and couldn't counterfeit the notes.

  • its so prettty ha

  • Greetings Australia from Canada thx for the plastic money!

  • where can i buy one of those

  • Cool, I can now wipe my ass with money without it ripping when I am a millionaire.

  • @SuptaTT don't forget that you can wash it again!

  • @SuptaTT but on the other hand shit won't stick to it.. be like wiping your ass with baking paper

  • @SuptaTT Paper cuts...

  • Canada is now switching to Plastic Money. The first bill will be the $100 then so on.

  • Woot new 100 dollar note in Canada coming this year!

  • I wanna poke that bubble so bad... =s

  • I can`t wait to go swimming with my money in my pockets ahahahhaa

  • Can't wait till Canada makes the move, thanks australia.

  • @3GBlog Haven't you heard the news? It's on the way!

  • @3GBlog it already is

  • @3GBlog The new 100 $ CAD will be release on November 2011, the 50$ on 2012 and the 204, 10$ AND 5$ ON 2013.

  • Canada is introducing plastic money Nov 2011 starting with our $100.00 bill.

At present most places will not accept the current $50 or $100 bill due to counterfeit.

I wonder how long before the plastic money is conterfeited ??

  • @Sevilea awhile, its a huge process to make, even if you make a crappy version that might be passable it would still be a large project. so atleast you would limit the number of people that would be able to produce fake notes

  • Canada's finally adapting this type of bank note. I'm excited to see them in the new future. I've always loved Australian money, and now I can use a similar type in my country! =D

  • @Blehhh49 been reading comments in the Canadian newspapers on this change to plastic notes and you would think the sky was falling by the negative responses to the change , Aussies developed and patented the polymer which had cost millions in research over many yrs so you guys dont have to waste millions trying to make a polymer which the Aussies have proven to work as we have had no problems since it was introduced 23 years ago, notes feel strange at first but u get used to it fast

  • @AndybronzemasterX Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of those too, and I'm baffeled. I mean, I can understand that it's a huge change after we've been using paper-money for so long, but still. We're definitely taking a leap into the 21st century with this. And like you said, the tech is already there, and the double cost of production pays for itself in the long run.

I'm sure a lot of the negativity will go away when the 20's, 10's and 5's come out.

  • Can't I just have one machine and one giant roll of paper? some ink too please!

  • i love the way they cut it

  • the reserve bank doesn't want anyone muscling in on their racket. bunch of banksters.

  • Best money ever, Hardest to counterfeit and most durable, better than that american CRAP

  • ...Scissors to destroy them???

  • @AlexNuchiha LAWL. who would cut up their money? thats the beauty of it

  • aussie aussie aussie

  • That's...REALLY nifty!

  • I wonder who thought, "Oh, I just blow a 5-storey high plastic bubble and print money on it!"

  • Romania had plastic bills long before 2007.

  • Comment removed

  • @regulatorzone congrats

  • @regulatorzone So did Australia. 1992 to be exact. 7 years before Romania.

  • Freaking awesome! Too bad nobody uses banknotes anymore :)

  • @dedoslav Not true!

  • I think the US should re-design the dollar like the euro and make them out of plastic.

  • Once again the US trails the pack

  • @AbuAvital The majority of the US has been using plastic for a long time, in the form of cards.

  • @blanknot but not banknotes

  • @blanknot And breasts.

  • silver > any currency

  • canada is going to plastic too :D

  • I wonder how much security is in the buildings that produce the money

  • pop*

  • Can they make this money from recycled pastic? That would be so great!

  • i wanna bubble that big

  • i could forge the hologram

  • AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI!!!

  • AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI

  • Pretty cool vid.

  • The US is once again considering $1 coins to save money, why on earth aren't they considering plastic $1 bills? its the best of both worlds and more.

  • @MikeFromTheUK1 I second that

  • To be honest plastic money is much better than paper money.

Both have their pros and cons.

  • wat happens if the bubble pops?

  • i wonder if U.S.A. will get these...

  • money created from thin air. the idea that it is worth something is ludicrous.

  • nice tits @5:55

  • From what? Nipple?!

  • So now the cashier / store clerk will ask you, "Will that be plastic or plastic?" ;)

  • Cool beans

  • Having plastic money is really more convenient than paper money. As they have provided the example of the swimmer with the money in his pocket, people no longer need to worry about leaving money in their bags while they are away from it!

Also, plastic money is more environmentally friendly too because if they last longer, then production of the bills can be reduced.

  • @l3abiel3ubbles only problem is plastic is not at all environmentally friendly, you just repeated a propaganda lie.

  • who has swim-trunks with pockets?

  • @enamis1 I do. They're awesome.

  • @enamis1 who calls them swim-trunks?

  • @jordmurray86 lots of people do, everyone I knew growing up did.

  • Fuck yea, Australian money. Put it through the wash, and you got urself some damn clean funds to fill ur filthy habits
