  • Great work Dan! Could a air duck be heated to heat or supplement heat in your HOME?

  • 8:00 the out come of cooking with parabolic mirrors!

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE 06:50: wrong!!! Take 4 plane mirrows (cheap) and you can use 5 fresnel-lenses. the 5 fresnel-lenses in order like 5 sites of a cube and the 4 plane mirrows in a 45° angel.

  • @LaomerKedor Focal length too short on lenses. Mirrors will heat up and break at 170-200f. Glass Mirrors do not work post lens for light redirection as they are 2nd surface and heat up fast.

  • did you guys have a fire that burned down your House or shed?

  • @JustinJJHCS1 Neighbor last year. Not us thankfully.

  • @DeleteMeOnline Parabolic mirrors are the way to get focus from an object (the sun) at infinity. Astronomers have used them for centuries. (Newtonian reflectors)

  • happy new year.

  • Check it out! Japanese guys with cameras. You see something new every day.

  • what does it do?

  • 2:32 Is it wrong that I recognize Denise FROM THE BACK?

  • Neat stuff Dude! That Nippon thing might really boost your exposure. Japan uses so much nuke power it's nice to see they're talking to you

  • hey Dan, not to be animist, but why don´t you give us the link to the Japanese video to comment and post links to this video? I don´t have any problem with them, I actually love the Japanese culture, but what´s fair is fair.

  • @truvak The link is on my facebook page.

    DANROJASGPS

I am 30:00 into the show.

The Japanese crew we worked with were AWESOME wonderful! GREAT PEOPLE. Higher ups we never met were:-( they had the final say.

  • hahaha check out bevis and butthead on there first ever job near the end...

  • Congrats on your international tv stardom dan! You are doing wonderful work - keep the green science flowing!

  • Post all the video you have of the japan thing. You got skrewed;-)

  • @ # $ % ^ & *

  • Just saw the video they did in Japan, they skipped the dishes working and edited me to look like a mad scientist that could not cook meat with lights. LOL ahhhhhhhhh

Crazy, we got 1200f from our lights, they got 158f.

We got cut, they got full credit Errrrrr

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE I'm so sorry to see them making a fool of you. It's such a stupid program. I always enjoy your videos and admire your spirit for constant challenge. Keep it up!

    Thanks from Japan.

  • Happy New years Dan, keep it cookin!

  • @luc59457 Happy New years Luc

  • Hahaha - the marines are gunna teach that guy a thing or two. Keep the vid so you can show him later when he can work a bit.

  • Man and his machines :)

  • Wow it burns sticks and starts fires like my 25 cent Bic lighters. When you actually make something useful call me.

  • @mikethemoneymaker

Anything of use will not include you.

  • @mikethemoneymaker What wood you like us to call you :-p

  • Dan the Man!

  • No offense but those two hitting the file cabinet didn't seem like the brightest bulbs :-P

  • @madjimms Agreed, they are better now. We have them work a day or two a week with us. 500% better but still room for improvement. One joins the Marines in Feb 2012 if he passes his PT.

Jeramy is the one who broke my solar panel.

    watch?v=_G4zK989F2I

    AT 1:34

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE Boy, that panel looked a bit expensive.

  • Actually... lol i love your vids!

  • Definitely something to keep covered up when not in use !

  • some professional telescopes used by astronomers use large hexagonal mirrors and put them together so that they get one large primary mirror

  • Yeppers, may small ones ship much easier then say a 96 inch mirror. It is a good concept for most to handle with ease. Thanks for spreading the word.

  • Really neat to see you with a set up like this somebody had a lot of money to spend on this. Very nice. RON PAUL 2012

  • Has your yard ever went up in flame's? LOL happy new years

  • Dan, any plans to track/follow the sun, all day, with an array? it would seem like a natural thing to do. I find the PICAXE microcontrolled LDR circuits work best, in that they do not "re-calibrate" more often than any time increment that you program, and thus waste less energy "making up their minds". Cheers from BC.

  • Was the neighbors burnt house mistaken for a stick or was it just freak a coincidence? :D

I hope he's on the mend Dan..

  • Have you seen the solar-powered 3D printer that turns sand into glass models (Markus Kayser)?

  • to cook with moonlight? im sure its not inpossable but wow .. how many mirrors dos it take to get to the center of the moonlight death ray . any guess ?

  • Do your neighbors think you are nuts??

  • That Was Awesome!

    Thanks Y'all!

  • Wow! you actually worked with Nippon TV?!?!?!? I'm soooo jellous! :)

  • Hello I'm Dan Rojas and this is the Stick-Burner 9,000!

  • so when are you going to hook this stuff up to a steam engine?

  • Happy New year green guys!!

  • You guys are world famous now!

  • How big do you reckon the mirrors would have to be to cook with moonlight?

  • did you play a proper 'straight man' to the comedian? hope you get to show their final result

  • Your local news stations sucketh. Obviously they don't recognize local genius.

    Happy new year!!!

Now lets see some big sterling engines pumped by some big mirrors. For some reason, there aren't any mid range Stirling engine projects to be found. Cali has some big 25Kwatt monsters. But nothing in the 1-4Wkatt range anywhere.

Your mission Dan Rojas, build a 4 Kilowatt Solar powered Stirling engine.

  • @TheSunergizer you forgot: "should you decide to accept it"

  • Hi Dan, do you and Denise have a special water system or do you use tap water? happy new year : )

  • Happy Healthy New Year, Dan and Denise. My wife and I love your videos. Peace .

  • Hey Dan. Of course you can cook with light. Remeber the EasyBake Oven? It used a 100 watt light bulb.

  • Waaaaaiiiiit a minute! Your in Florida?! So'm I! Cool to know we have other awesome folks here :D

  • Hello there, I'm your host Dan Rojas and I'm big in Japan.

  • Your an international star now.

  • Probably better to use a micro for indoor cooking ;)

You gotta love big money film crews though...its nice working with and for them!

  • that is cool ... have you ever received local recognition?

  • @88roro11 no, just Youtube:-)

  • @GREENPOWERSCIENCE Haha his neighbors are probably constantly peeking through their windows going "Frank... Frank! He's doing it again! He's trying to power up his death ray. I told you! I told you to call the FBI!"

  • What's the show called? What channel?????????

  • @CCSinventions "Sekai No Hatte Matte Ette Q! (often abbreviated as Ette Q!) is an exciting, Japan's top-rated weekly, primetime, adventurous educational variety show which airs nationwide in Japan with the average of 18 million viewers. Along with Japan's superstar comedian/talent Kazuki Otake as a host, the program travels all over the globe to carry out fun, exciting, and intriguing science experiments that reflect questions from our kids audience." They are sending a DVD I hope.

  • Greetings from the Island of Malta. I enjoy your videos. Thanks guys.

    Happy New Year.

  • @imdejjaq Happy New Year
