Those are software innovations. We've got plenty of dumphones (apple phone, feature phone) with that hardware that don't have that, but they could have. Nothing stopping them, but this is probably where HTC introduced the software and everyone else followed suit.

Boo!! If it was an iPhone wannabe, it would've closed off developers from running awesome applications in the background, have no landscape redraw support for any application, have no auto focus, have no Java and Flash support in the web browser, no copy&paste and of course have no replaceable battery.

Well, it has everything except for the 4GB internal storage. However it allows you to use MicroSD 2.0 cards, so theoretically you can use a 32GB HC MicroSD card, if such card existed! :D

Allthough it doesn't has the internal 4GB storage, it has a larger ROM and more RAM! ;)

It also has a slide-out hardware keyboard which makes it bigger, but great if you want the tactile keyboard.

Almost every phone is muteable, but only the diamond mutes itself when its being flipped over, or "heads down" if you like.

but this is another cool way to mute the phone during call... instead of picking up the phone to hit the screen button, you can just quickly flip it over. I think that was a great idea!
